Producer/musician/multi-instrumentalist Terrace Martin signs worldwide publishing deal with Peermusic



 

Global independent music publishing company, Peermusic, has signed producer, musician, and multi-instrumentalist Terrace Martin to a worldwide publishing administration deal as announced today by Jamie Cerreta, President U.S. and Canada, Peermusic and Tuff Morgan, Vice President of A&RPeermusic. Through the deal, Peermusic will also represent Terrace Martin for worldwide neighbouring rights. 

Terrace Martin is widely recognized as one of the most versatile and collaborative artists of his generation, with a career defined by innovation and musical excellence. His recent work includes two full-length releases—Albion Files and Come As You Are, a collaborative album with Kenyon DixonCome As You Are earned a nomination for Best Progressive R&B Album at the 2026 GRAMMY® Awards, while its single “WeMaj” (with Kenyon Dixon featuring Rapsody) received a nomination for Best Melodic Rap Performance. Throughout his impressive career, Terrace Martin has achieved eight GRAMMY® nominations, 17 billion streams and 16 million album sales.

Raised in Los Angeles and shaped by its vibrant musical culture, Martin’s boundary-pushing blend of jazz, hip-hop and R&B has made him one of today’s most influential and sought-after artists. He developed early mastery of saxophone, keys and production – skills that would lead him to work with prominent industry artists like Snoop Dogg, Lalah Hathaway, Herbie Hancock, The Game, YG, Summer Walker, Busta Rhymes, Kendrick Lamar, Ty Dolla $ign, Travis Scott, Rapsody, ScHoolboy Q and 2 Chainz., to name a few. His contributions’s to Lamar’s 2012 breakthrough album, good kid, m.A.A.d. city and the 2015 album To Pimp a Butterfly earned Martin his first GRAMMY® nominations and helped define the sound of a new era in hip-hop and jazz fusion. 

His own discography includes acclaimed projects such as Locke High (2008), the GRAMMY®-nominated Velvet Portraits (2016), Drones (2021), and a steady stream of collaborative releases such as Fine Tune (2023), I Left My Heart in Ladera (2023), and Nintendo Soul (2024). 

Martin founded his label, Sounds of Crenshaw, in 2016, which has since served as the outlet for his creative endeavors. This includes his GRAMMY®-nominated supergroup Dinner Party alongside Kamasi Washington, Robert Glasper, and 9th Wonder. Last month, Martin launchedSounds of Crenshaw Live, an intimate new performance series celebrating Come As You Are. Hosted exclusively on the Sounds of Crenshaw YouTube channel, the self-produced series provides viewers with a raw, immersive experience with new performances dropping weekly.
