PledgeMusic and Moshcam Announce an Exciting New Opportunity for Music Acts Around the World
05 November 2013 - Press release
Introducing ‘Shoot My Gig’ ‘Shoot My Gig’ is the latest in a series of initiatives to be unveiled by PledgeMusic, as the company continues to expand its offerings to the music sector. Partnering with Moshcam, the Australian based creators of the world’s largest catalogue of originally-produced online music videos, PledgeMusic will provide artists around the world with the opportunity to fund the filming of one of their gigs, the end product to be marketed using their direct-to-fan platform as an exclusive DVD or download and via the global Moshcam network. Moshcam’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/moshcam is currently in the top 3% of music channels on YouTube and features artists such as Alabama Shakes, A$AP Rocky, Cold War Kids and Bullet For My Valentine. In a very simple process, PledgeMusic, Moshcam and the artist promote the project to fans to secure funding. Once secured, Moshcam then films the artist’s live show, managing all elements from clearances and permissions through to post production, DVD manufacture and delivery. As with all Moshcam shows, the artist retains full copyright over the film. Once approved by the artist, Moshcam streams the film of the gig via their global network, sharing revenue with the artist while providing them with a permanent record of one of their live shows to share with their fans. Together, PledgeMusic and Moshcam provide a turnkey solution to the usually complex and costly procedure of live filming, anywhere in the world. “PledgeMusic has always focused on providing the most creative and engaging ways to allow artists to reach their fans with new music projects,” said Benji Rogers, Founder and CEO, PledgeMusic. “ 'Shoot My Gig’ takes this to the next level, giving fans the opportunity to support their favourite artists while being a part of a professional shoot, resulting in a permanent record of the artist’s performance.” Moshcam’s CEO Stephen Peach said today, “In addition to the obvious benefits for fans and artists alike, Moshcam also delivers to the artists a global platform through which to distribute and market their performance to existing and new fans, helping promote tours and releases as well as develop audiences around the world. We’re really excited to be working with Scot and the whole team at PledgeMusic to deliver this great opportunity to artists” PledgeMusic’s Scot Crawford said today, “This partnership creates great opportunities for Australian and international artists. It’s such a simple, no-fuss approach to provide fans with a recorded document, whether physical or digital, of a live show. We can see this growing into an extremely important part of the marketing mix.It creates another potential product that artists can anchor a broad range of offerings against; or it could purely be used to enhance other potential direct to fan projects." |
