Piri & Tommy sign major publishing deals

Fresh from wowing the crowds at Reading and Leeds, pop-dance duo piri & tommy have just signed major publishing deals.  piri has signed a direct deal with Warner Chappell Music, the music publishing arm of Warner Music Group, while tommy is signed to the publisher’s joint venture with Tim & Danny Music. 

The pair caught the public and the industry’s attention with the release of their first single ‘soft spot’, which became a viral hit on TikTok.  So far the song has featured as the soundtrack to more than one thousand TikTok videos and has amassed more than 12 million streams on Spotify.

piri says: “We’re so excited to be signing major publishing deals, it feels like a significant step in our career.  Amber (Davis) and Darryl at Chappell were the first people in publishing we spoke to and we felt like they got our vision for our songwriting from the start.”

tommy adds: “I’m so pleased to be working with Tim & Danny and the team at Chappell, and we’re already to talking to them about teaming up with some of the other writers they work with and creating some hits!”

piri and tommy met while piri was at University in Manchester, and after getting locked-down in the same student-house during the pandemic, they quickly started writing songs together.

The first song they ever wrote together, ‘soft spot’, won them fans such as PinkPantheress, Rebecca Black and Charli XCX, who played the track on her Radio 1 show.

They followed this up with ‘beachin’’ which was selected as Radio 1’s Hottest Record in the World at the start of this year.  Their latest release ‘on & on’ has racked up millions of streams in just a few weeks.  The pair also embarked on their first UK headline tour over the summer, playing at London’s XOYO, as well as festivals such as Glastonbury, Latitude and Reading & Leeds.

piri & tommy recently signed a record deal with Polydor and are currently working on their first long form project.
