Phrased Differently and BUDDE Music form joint venture music publishing business

Phrased Differently and Budde Music have entered into a partnership forming an exclusive joint venture music publishing business. Having acquired Cloud 9’s stake (in Phrased Differently), Budde Music will merge its existing London operation into the new venture, creating an independent force in the UK market with a global set-up.  

This A&R focussed collaboration confirms Budde Music’s multi-million pound commitment to both existing and future copyrights from Phrased Differently and its continued dedication to signing and fostering world-class songwriters. This strategic joint venture will accelerate both companies’ continued expansion and increase Phrased Differently’s ability to invest in the brightest talent.  

With Phrased Differently’s integration into Budde Music’s global network which has operations in Germany, France and the United States, it will drive future growth through expansion of its music publishing roster and amplify its creative services to the existing client base of established artists, songwriters and producers. 

The high-profile success and level of placements already secured by Phrased Differently in a short time is all the more impressive considering that more than 90% of the roster consists of writers signed with zero track record, all developed through the hard work and dedication of the company’s outstanding A&R team led by Dan Edu.
