Perfect Havoc signs global singles deal with Just Kiddin15 September 2020 - Press release
London indie imprint, Perfect Havoc, has signed a deal with the respected house music duo, Just Kiddin for the global release of three singles with the first landing this November.
The Leeds-based producers, Lewis Thompson and Laurie Revell, join Perfect Havoc as it aims to build on its high-profile success with Joel Corry and MNEK ‘Head & Heart’ (released in partnership with Asylum/Warner). The track held on to the Official Singles Chart No.1 position for 6 consecutive weeks making it the longest-running continuous chart-topper of 2020 so far, with Perfect Havoc being the only independent dance label to have a No. 1 in 2020 so far, according to The Official UK Charts Company. The Hoxton-based independent label underlined its fast-rising status by earning a top 20 hit with PS1 ft Alex Hosking ‘Fake Friends’ in last Friday’s (11 Sep) Official Singles Chart unveiling.
Adam Griffin, co-founder of Perfect Havoc commented: “After 12 years at Sony Music, I wasn’t initially sure what genre/road to go down. Being inspired by my now business partner to start our own company, we had to decide what direction to take. Whilst out running and listening to The Magician’s famous podcast, I discovered tracks like Just Kiddin ‘Thinking About It’. It then clicked and to now work with an act that inspired Perfect Havoc is a dream.”
Robert Davies, co-founder of Perfect Havoc said: “We are thrilled to sign Just Kiddin for a long-term deal with Perfect Havoc. We have been big fans since their release with ‘Thinking About It’ and we are delighted to bring them on board to the label alongside their manager Lucy Tallant.”
Just Kiddin first appeared on Perfect Havoc in February 2019 remixing Joel Corry’s ‘Fallen’, however the pair began to turn heads prior to this with their 2014 summer anthem ‘Thinking About It’ via Parlophone’s dance imprint, FFRR. It received over 50 plays across BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra and over 13 million streams online.
Since then, Just Kiddin have gone on to achieve over 130 million plays on Spotify alone with singles ‘Hysteria’ and ‘Body Talk’ both selected as Future Anthems by Danny Howard and MistaJam. Further tastemaker supporters include Annie Mac and Pete Tong, plus a Future Star accolade was given by Annie Nightingale.
Just Kiddin Manager, Lucy Tallant added: “Without a doubt, Perfect Havoc are leading the independent sector in dance in the UK and achieving major results. It was an absolute no brainier to partner with Rob and Adam on the Just Kiddin project and we’re excited for a fresh perspective and the passion we mutually feel for their incredible new music.”
On signing to Perfect Havoc, Just Kiddin said: “We’ve been getting to know the Perfect Havoc crew over the last few years and now just feels like the right time to make it official. It’s a pleasure to be a part of the team. We can’t wait to get this new music out there.”
