peermusic U.K. has signed UK-based band The Reytons to an exclusive, global music publishing deal via a joint venture with Max Music Publishing

peermusic U.K. has signed UK-based band The Reytons to an exclusive, global music publishing deal via a joint venture with Max Music Publishing, as announced today by Nigel Elderton, President, Europe & Managing Director, peermusic U.K.; Mike Sault, Head of A&R, peermusic U.K.; Dylan Myerscough-Harris, A&R Manager, peermusic U.K.; and Max Odell, CEO, Max Music Publishing.

The Reytons – comprising Jonny Yerrell, Lee Holland, Joe O’Brien and Jamie Todd – landed a new career-best performance, their first No. 1 in the U.K. chart this week with What’s Rock And Roll?, the British indie band’s third LP. Formed in South Yorkshire, the Reytons previously cracked the top 40 on the Official U.K. Albums Chart with May Seriously Harm You And Others Around (No. 27) and Kids Off The Estate (No. 11), both from 2021.

“I am delighted to see a great independent band, on an indie label and published by an independent publisher reach the top of the UK album charts!” said Nigel Elderton. “Congratulations to the entire team who have worked so hard to make this possible including our partners at Max Music.”

“Over the moon for The Reytons, and our amazing partners at Max Music Publishing on the band’s first UK number one album,” said Mike Sault. “An incredible feat by anyone’s standards, well deserved, and we’re excited for the year ahead in amplifying their full potential around the world. This is just the start.”

“Max Music Publishing we always try to identify and work with the most exciting and ambitious artists in the UK music scene and The Reytons ticked both these boxes and then some!” said Max Odell, CEO, Max Music Publishing. "What's Rock And Roll is THE best indie rock album of not only 2023 but this decade to date and it is a privilege and honour to be supporting the hardest working band in Britain achieve their goals and score a number one album!”

The Reytons are set to head off on a mini tour of Australia before returning to the UK this summer to play Neighbourhood Weekender. Amongst the creative campaigns The Reytons have come up with to market themselves without label backing is their ‘Golden Ticket’ campaign, in which five of their pre-ordered albums hold a life-long free ticket to every Reyton show.
