Peermusic sign Norwegian singer, songwriter, and producer Aurora



Peermusic, the global independent music publishing company with 39 offices in 32 countries, has signed Norwegian singer/songwriter/producer and recording artist Aurora Aksnes, professionally known asAURORA, to a go-forward worldwide publishing deal as announced today by Ralph W. Peer, Managing Director, U.K., Australasia and Vice President of peermusic’s African and Middle East operations, Peermusic; Harry Knyt, Head of A&R, UK, Peermusic; and Dylan Myerscough-Harris, Senior A&R Manager, Peermusic. 

Aurora Aksnes, known simply as AURORA, is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, and producer who has captivated global audiences with her ethereal voice and unique blend of electronic pop and folk influences. Initially trained on piano, AURORA gradually expanded her musical involvement to include percussion and production. She has garnered chart-topping successes in addition to accolades, including the P3 Prize for her significant impact on Norwegian music; four Spellemann Awards (with two nominations for Album of the Year); an EBBA Award for international success; and was honored with the Nordoff and Robbins Silver Clef Award for Contemporary Music in 2025. She was named to Forbes’ “30 Under 30” and RollingStone’s “10 Artists to Watch”. Beyond her solo work, she has collaborated with a range of artists including The Chemical Brothers, Bring Me The Horizon, Jacob Collier, Wu Qing-feng, Tom Odell, and Hans Zimmer. AURORA has also contributed to soundtracks for numerous films, television series, and video game franchises, including Disney’s Frozen 2 (AURORA performed “Into the Unknown” live at the 92nd Academy Awards with Idina Menzel and her solo version was released as a single); Wolfwalkers; HBO’s Girls; Netflix’s One Piece series; Kaiju No. 8; FIFA 16; Sky: Children of the Light; Assassin’s Creed, Genshin Impact and hit Netflix show Adolescence.

Born in Stavanger, Norway, AURORA began writing songs at the age of six. She first gained recognition as a teenager, quickly emerging as one of Norway’s most notable pop acts. Her debut studio album, All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend (2016) topped Norway's VG-lista and earned Spellemann Awards for Pop Soloist and Music Video of the Year for “I Went Too Far”, in addition to a nomination for Album of the Year. She also won the Spellemann Award for Newcomer of the Year. She followed with a two-part concept album: Infections of a Different Kind (Step 1) in 2018 and A Different Kind of Human (Step 2) in 2019.  AURORA supported both releases with a headlining tour and performances at Glastonbury and Outside Lands.  

Her third studio album, The Gods We Can Touch (2022), marked her first top ten entry in the UK and her second number one album in Norway. Throughout 2022, Aurora did a series of notable collaborations earning her the Spellemann Award for International Success of the Year for her contributions to Norwegian music exports and received the P3 Prize at the P3 Gull, presented by Billie Eilish. Her fourth album, What Happened to the Heart? (2024), charted top ten in the UK, Germany, Norway, Scotland, and the Netherlands and earned nominations for Release of the Year and Alternative Pop at the 2024 Spellemann Awards. The supporting headline tour, What Happened To The Earth?, spanned over 50 shows and 300,000 ticket sales.

Renowned for her dynamic stage presence and captivating live performances, AURORA combines elements of dance and storytelling to create an immersive concert experience. As an official Music Ambassador for War Child and Earth Percent, she is also an advocate for environmental and social issues, using her platform to raise awareness about climate change, mental health, and equality.
