Patreon fundraiser for artists

Patreon will be holding a live stream today, March 18, to raise money for artists affected by cancelled gigs and lost wages during this global pandemic. It starts at 4pm Pacific Time and goes to 7pm PT.

It's no secret that there's a lot going on around the world right now. People are stressed, scared, and unsure of what comes next, and we know this is especially hard on creators. On top of the obvious health concerns, the growing number of event cancellations is impacting your livelihood and ability to connect. This sucks, so the team at Patreon put on their thinking caps and decided to host a very weird, but hopefully meaningful virtual event.

On Wednesday, March 18th, Patreon is hosting a ~3-hour stream repurposing much of the incredible programming we had planned for SXSW this year, but it's somehow even better and weirder. Hosted by Jack Conte, there will be conversations with creators and experts, performances, some fun surprises and a whole lotta community collaboration. It's free to watch and participate from anywhere in the world, and if you want to join us in giving back to the artists & communities most impacted, we'll be raising money for the Artist's Funds to support creators facing financial losses because of COVID-19.
