October's Bandcamp Friday Generates Over $3 Million for Independent Artists and Labels in Just 24 Hours

Since 2020, Fans Have Helped Put Over $140 Million Directly in the Hands of Independent Artists and Labels

Bandcampthe world's largest online music marketplace and community, has once again brought artists and fans together in a powerful show of support, with the latest Bandcamp Friday generating over $3 million for independent artists in just 24 hours

Originally launched in the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, Bandcamp Fridays began as a  lifeline for artists who lost touring income. On these selected Fridays, Bandcamp waives its share of revenue, ensuring all artist and label proceeds from music and merch sales go directly to them.

This October's event was supercharged by the exclusive release of the Foo Fighters' live album, Are Playing Where??? Vol. I. The album is available to purchase on a pay-what-you-want basis, with all proceeds being donated to local charities selected by the band.

Now celebrating their fifth year, Bandcamp Fridays have collectively funneled over $140 million and counting. Fans have consistently shown up for artists not just on Bandcamp Fridays, but every day. Artists on Bandcamp receive an average of 82% of every purchase directly, contributing to more than $1.5 billion paid out to date.

The final Bandcamp Friday of 2025 will take place on December 5th, wrapping up another banner year for artist support and fan connection. This comes at an exciting time for Bandcamp, which recently launched Bandcamp Clubs - a new way for fans to discover music, connect more deeply with artists and each other, and explore monthly selections curated by genre experts.
