Nightlife must be at the heart of high street revival, says NTIA boss Michael Kill, as Government announces Pride in Place programme from MHCLG

“We welcome this initiative to put power back into communities and breathe new life into our high streets. Pubs, bars, clubs and grassroots venues are more than just businesses, they are cultural anchors, central to local identity and community life.

As the government rolls out Pride in Place, it is vital that the night-time economy is given a seat at the table. Our sector sustains hundreds of thousands of jobs and drives local growth, while keeping towns and cities vibrant after dark.

If we want real renewal, communities must have the tools not just to revive shops, but to protect and invest in the venues that make their high streets thrive. We look forward to working with government and local partners to make that happen.”
