Myndstream enters into first of its kind collaboration to research the clinical potential of music in healthcare

Myndstream, the global leader in science-led wellness music, has agreed to a collaboration with Mayo Clinic to research the clinical applications of music in healthcare. The agreement marks Myndstream's entry into the healthcare sector, building on the company's longstanding work with leading academic and wellness institutions to study music's therapeutic impact and potential.

Under the agreement, Mayo Clinic has taken an equity stake in Myndstream and together they will explore the clinical potential of functional music in healthcare settings to better understand how music can be used to enhance patient recovery and clinician wellbeing.

Anchored by Myndstream's expertly-designed functional music, studies involving clinical trials and pilots will be conducted across Mayo Clinic's healthcare institutions, including on-campus hospital environments and digital platforms. Combining this with knowledge sharing, over a twelve-month period the collaboration will aim to generate insights to optimize Myndstream's offer for clinical settings, while providing evidence for the broader application of music as a therapeutic tool across the healthcare and wellness industries.

Freddie Moross, Founder, Myndstream said: "This collaboration with a world-class and highly respected organization like Mayo Clinic marks a pivotal step in our mission to scientifically unlock the therapeutic power of music. There is a wide belief in the capacity of music as a tool for healing and human connection; this collaboration will enable us to explore and seek to validate its impact in a clinical setting."

"With the global wellness market projected to reach US$9 trillion by 2028[1], there is immense potential for functional music to become a mainstream therapeutic resource. Myndstream is at the forefront of that movement as we work to transform music into a readily accessible tool that positively and scientifically supports health and wellbeing."

The collaboration will see Myndstream work alongside Mayo Clinic's Dr. Dawn Mussallem, D.O. and her team. Mussallem is a distinguished integrative oncologist, board-certified lifestyle medicine physician and Stage 4 cancer survivor.

Hospitals can be high-pressure environments where patients face stress and uncertainty, and clinicians navigate fast-paced, emotionally demanding situations. Decades of research show that intentional music listening can positively impact anxiety[2], cardiac health, dementia[3] and pain management[4] conditions. By combining Myndstream's experience in outcome-driven functional music with Mayo Clinic's clinical expertise, the collaboration hopes to build upon this foundation to investigate how music can be systematically integrated into healthcare to improve experiences and outcomes for clinicians and patients alike.

While the collaboration focuses on healthcare, its results will also look to clinically validate and inform how Myndstream's functional music can be applied across multiple industries, identifying when and how it can have the greatest impact in spa, wellness, healthcare, fitness and education settings. The company boasts an expansive presence across these segments with its B2B streaming platform "The Stream" currently used by all major hotel groups, and an expansive B2C footprint with over 1 million streams daily across streaming platforms. Myndstream is widely recognized as the gold standard in wellness audio and is the official audio partner of Forbes Travel Guide and the Global Wellness Summit.

Freddie Moross and Dr. Mussallem will be appearing on stage together at the 19th annual Global Wellness Summit this week in Dubai, where they will discuss the new agreement in greater depth. In tandem, Dr Mussallem will share her personal healthcare journey as a stage IV cancer survivor and heart transplant recipient and how this has influenced her work and research.
