Music Glue Strengthens North American Presence With Opening of Vancouver Office
01 April 2025 - Press releaseMusic industry e-commerce specialist Music Glue has announced the launch of a new office in Vancouver, Canada furthering bolstering its presence in North America.
The new operation, which will be become the company’s newest international division alongside its existing offices in London, New York and Sydney, will be overseen by Music Glue’s Chief Product Manager Tom Maguire who will be based in Vancouver.
Tom, who has been with the company since 2007 will be focused on responding to the increase in demand for the company’s e-commerce services in North American as US music companies seek a partner that can help them establish commercial D2C operations in Europe.
Music Glue is used by artists, labels, merchandisers and venues worldwide to sell music, merchandise, tickets and experiences to fans from one customizable website and empowers artists to take control of their online presence and ecommerce, own their data and sell anything, to anyone, anywhere, in any currency, any language and via any device.
With the launch of the Vancouver office Music Glue will be able to further confront and solve the issues facing American companies wanting to do business in Europe by ensuring all operations are regulatory compliant across GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations), tax (intra and inter EU sales) & GPSR (General Product Safety Regulations).
Furthermore, Music Glue can process transactions in the currency of the customer while accounting to North American sellers in their preferred currency (ie USD or CAD) and have multiple EU and UK warehouse integrations plus integrations with key POD (Print on Demand) services, to remove stock risk. It also has partnerships with key screen printing services and can broker relationships for its clients with independent merchandise companies.
Music Glue is also already well established as a partner for European music companies operating in the US and currently powers the stores for artists such as Enter Shikari, James Blunt, Self Esteem and Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs that have US based suppliers.
Mark Meharry, Founder and CEO of Music Glue said, “In recent years, shifting EU regulations, combined with the challenges of Brexit, have made direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales in Europe increasingly difficult. More recently, the looming threat of an international trade war has further complicated matters. For many North American artists and their teams, D2C in Europe must now seem nearly impossible. Enter Music Glue. We've worked relentlessly to overcome these regulatory and technical obstacles, so you don't have to. This allows you to focus on what truly matters (music) without the worry of calculating the correct VAT on a t-shirt sold in Poland through print-on-demand (no tariffs!!). We get it; it’s tedious but getting it wrong can result in costly fines and even additional charges for your fans. Through word-of-mouth, our North American friends have become aware that Music Glue is ‘European Ready’ and it just made sense to have a presence in Vancouver so that we can deal with questions and issues ‘real-time.”
