Keynote ie:music Artist Services - The marketing Team Behind Robbie Williams' 13th Studio Album
On November 22nd Robbie Williams will release his 13th studio album ’The Christmas Present’. Robbie is one of the most decorated music artists in the world with six of the Top 100 best-selling albums in British history, a huge 80+ million album sales worldwide, fourteen number 1 singles and eighteen BRIT Awards – more than any other artist in music history. In this keynote presentation the digital and marketing team from London-based ie:music break down and dissect what goes into a global marketing campaign for one of the worlds most successful artists. They cover the basics of digital marketing strategy, e-commerce as well as share some of the best tips and tricks into how to release an album globally.

The Agents Panel - Taking the Strain
For many years the main aspects of the agency business, the relationships between agents, artists and artist managers, promoters and venues, remained negotiable of course, but pretty much constant. The opposite is true, as the live business continues what appears to be inexorable growth and development. In 2018, for example, returns from live surpassed radio and TV, especially in Europe. Although this success is welcome, it also brings increased strains on the men and women that operate the business of booking tours. We invite international bookers to discuss the pressures of today’s agency business.

With Geoff Meall (Paradigm Agency), Alex Bruford (ATC Live LLP), Beckie Sugden (X-ray Touring) and Maria May (CAA), moderated by Allan McGowan.

Deezer Keynote: #MakeStreamingFair
Not all streams are created equal. Do you know where your money's going when you stream your favourite artist? Richard Wernicke, Head of Content Central & Eastern Europe at Deezer, will break down the current model and introduces UCPS, a new way to pay streaming royalties that Deezer wants to champion. Richard Wernicke joined Deezer in 2013 as Head of Content and Editorial of GSA. Richard is responsible for all editorial content and label relations within the CEE region, and is in charge of developing and executing innovative campaigns for local and international artists.

The Festival Panel - Europe's Leading Festivals
The Festival Panel 2020: Voted the most popular panel at ESNS in 2019, ILMC’s Greg Parmley invites Europe’s leading festivals such as Paleo, Sziget and Exit to introduce their event and reveal their unique ingredients for success. Alongside video presentations, and insights into the philosophy of each event, this year’s Festival Panel will also consider the ever-increasing pressures on booking the perfect line up. With the annual scramble to secure a bill earlier, and more protracted than ever, are we digging our own graves out in those fields?

Digital Marketing in Loud Music
Why is it that the LOUD music scene years is behind in its social media and online strategy and presence? Does the scene have to catch up and why? And what can we learn from bands and festivals that already built an online community?

With Matt Bacon (Dropout Media), Roman Hilser (Summer Breeze Open Air), Pelle Thiedeman (Black Harbour Entertainment) and Julie Weir (Music for Nations), moderated by Alexander Milas (TwinV).

Eurovision Song Congest - How Are the Preparations Going for Rotterdam 2020
The Eurovision Song Contest returns to the Netherlands in 2020. NPO, NOS and AVROTROS, who organise the event together, expect the 65th edition of the music competition to be the largest television production ever in The Netherlands. On the Saturday of ESNS, Sietse Bakker (NPO and Executive Producer of the Event) will talk about how the festival has developed in recent years and how the festival has regained its immense popularity. And of course: how are the preparations going for Rotterdam 2020?

European Festival Awards
Public voting for the European Festival Awards 2019 is now open until November 30th. The public can vote on their favourite Festival in five different main categories here.

The European Festival Awards are the annual celebration of the continent’s most esteemed festivals and the organisers behind them, established in 2009 by Festival Awards Ltd, Yourope and ESNS. Tickets are on sale here.

FEAT - Secondary Ticketing and Legislation
FEAT, Face-value European Alliance for Ticketing, will go into the much debated subject of European Secondary Ticketing Legislation. Is an event ticket a license rather than a product? How can event organisers protect themselves from touting, including clear communications with fans regarding terms and conditions and encouraging primary ticket sellers to check their sales? All these subjects are on the agenda.
