Midem Launches the Music Networking Week
17 November 2020 - Press releaseMidem, home of the global music community, today announces the launch of Midem Music Networking Week via the Midem Digital platform.
Continuing to support the global music community at this uncertain time, Midem is launching the Midem Music Networking Week initiative (November 30 - December 4), a service free to access, enabling all music professionals around the world to connect and meet on Midem Digital with the 10,000+ music and digital industry executives already registered, and with industry leaders and experts specifically signing up for the week.
This full week of tailor-made networking opportunities will allow participants to grow their business internationally, meet new contacts and potential new partners.
The digital platform was created for the debut online edition of Midem in June 2020. A free service, it became the leading digital destination for the world’s music industry, bringing together executives, artists and startups and remains live with a vibrant programme of content.
The Midem Music Networking Week on the digital platform will include a series of speed- meetings, Q&As and innovative networking formats, specifically developed by the Midem team, allowing users to meet with relevant, leading execs from all around the world. For multiple sectors of the industry, from labels and publishers, to festivals, promoters, artists, agents, managers and PRs, to lawyers and investors, startups to huge digital players, the online event will be ideal for international development.
Midem Director, Alexandre Deniot, says : “After the ground-breaking success of the digital edition in June, with more than 10,000 members registered on the platform, Midem continues to support the global music community more than ever, by offering new connections and business opportunities. I wanted to propose a special week dedicated to business meetings, the ‘Music Networking Week’, because the need for our industry to stay globally connected has never been more crucial than it is today. By uniting the global community, I want to give music professionals a new opportunity to come together, grow their international networks and access concrete business around the world.”
Ric Salmon, CEO, Driift (UK), comments : "I'm delighted to be taking part in Midem's Music Networking Week. It's been a tough year, but going forward it's vital the industry continues to collaborate, innovate and look towards building back. Our experience with Driift gives me optimism that livestreaming can play a part in that process, and I'm looking forward to discussing the dynamics of this fast-evolving format with delegates."
Zach Katz, CEO, Raised in Space (USA), adds : “The music industry is undergoing its most critical reinvention in decades. This period, although highly challenging, will prove to be a direct highway to the industry’s greatest growth. It’s more important than ever to proactively understand the vastly changing landscape and to know the emerging technology players who’ll go on to bring the music industry to its new heights. Events like Midem are at the forefront of the conversations that will guide the music industry into its future.”
