MCPR celebrates ten years in the business

SARAH HENDERSON IS PROMOTED TO MANAGING DIRECTOR WHILST MURRAY CHALMERS ASSUMES THE ROLE OF CHAIRMAN

JACK BEADLE IS PROMOTED TO HEAD OF MUSIC AND SARINA CLARK IS PROMOTED TO PUBLICIST

April 2018 marks ten years of trading for Murray Chalmers PR (MCPR). Following nearly 25 years service at Parlophone Records, Murray set up MCPR in 2008 when Parlophone/EMI was acquired by Terra Firma. All his major clients moved with him to the new company; with founding clients including Radiohead, Coldplay, Yoko Ono, Pet Shop Boys and Kylie the company had a strong creative foundation and ten years on can still count those founding artists as clients - as well as many, many more.

Over the years the company has gone from strength to strength, continuously acquiring major new clients including Kate Bush, Noel Gallagher, Robbie Williams, The Stone Roses, Suede and more. Murray was awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Music PR Award in 2011 whilst the company won the Music Week PR award in 2013. MCPR is now seen as one of the premier music and arts PR companies in the UK, with one of the most credible artist rosters.

Sarah Henderson, long time employee and formerly Director will assume the role of Managing Director with immediate effect, whilst Jack Beadle, formerly Senior Publicist is promoted to Head of Music and Sarina Clark is promoted to Publicist. Founder Murray Chalmers will continue to work across MCPR clients in his new position as Chairman, whilst continuing to develop MCPR Scotland following its launch in 2017.

The past ten years have seen Murray, Sarah and the MCPR team work on numerous outstanding music and arts campaigns including: Kate Bush's return to the stage, Noel Gallagher's solo career, The Stone Roses reunion and shows, Suede's outstanding comeback and Yoko Ono's Meltdown... to name a few! MCPR's roster reads like a who's who of the music industry and over the last decade the team have worked on multiple albums, tours, book launches and everything in between from internationally acclaimed artists including Coldplay, Radiohead, Muse, Kings of Leon, Kylie, Chrissie Hynde, Garbage, The Horrors, Liam Payne, Robbie Williams and many more.

In 2014 the company expanded to offer PR services to some of the country's best loved Brands and Events with clients including: The NME Awards, Letters Live, Elton John AIDS Foundation, Wahaca and Lovebox.

Speaking of the company's new structure and on celebrating a decade in business, Murray says:
"I'm very happy to have reached our ten year anniversary with many of our founding ideas and principles firmly intact. I'm a music obsessive who loves great writing and it's been a pleasure to build the company around what I believe is the best artist roster in the business. As MCPR evolves and expands I can't think of a better person to run it than Sarah Henderson, working with the brilliant team here. It was always my hope that  one day I would form an alliance with someone who could help me move the company forward, and Sarah is that person. This will allow me to expand our business in many ways, most notably in our new second office in Scotland, in conjunction with Jennie Patterson. It will also allow me to see all my favourite artists and journalists more often!"

Sarah says:
"After 9 years at MCPR I'm thrilled to step into my new role as MD. It's an incredibly exciting time in the industry with the changing landscape providing diverse and interesting opportunities for us as a press office. I intend to move the business forward, working more in the fields of content creation, paid for creative brand partnerships and social media, while remaining true to our fundamental purpose – promoting really great music."
