Matador Records announces new hires In NYC and London

Matador Records is excited to announce new hires for its New York and London offices.  In New York, Jake Whitener joins the staff as Director of A&R.  Whitener was previously a publicist at Big Hassle Media, as well as the founder of two small labels (Mock Records, Unsatisfied Records) and Unscene Fest (a DIY music festival in Los Angeles).  He has managed artists that have signed to labels such as Saddle Creek and Partisan, and has previous experience at Capitol Records and Red Light Management, as well as Beggars Group / Matador Records, where he interned in 2011.

In London, Alex Keague-Davies joins Matador as UK General Manager. Joining from [PIAS], she's spent recent years leading global campaigns for various labels. Working with in-house imprints such as [PIAS] Recordings & Play It Again Sam, she's also worked alongside labels such as Ipecac & Partisan, overseeing campaigns for artists including Faith No More, Matt Simons, and Cigarettes After Sex.

Keague-Davies says, "I'm very excited to be joining the Matador team. A hugely respected label, I'm looking forward to not only continuing the legacy and success of Matador and their artists, but growing and building on that, both in the UK and internationally."
