LoveLive announce the acquisition of Show Cobra

LoveLive are thrilled to announce the acquisition of US-based entertainment media business Show Cobra, bringing expertise and remarkable talent to the growing LoveLive family and cementing the company’s American expansion. Visit the new company landing pagehere.

The acquisition will establish LoveLive as the leading independent player in the region. Show Cobra’s bi-coastal presence and blue chip client base will accelerate LoveLive’s access to the world’s biggest talent in the world’s largest music market, reinforcing their executional capabilities internationally.

Similar to LoveLive’s operation in the UK, Show Cobra specializes in numerous areas of music from live events and performances, original television and web series to branded entertainment, documentary films, curation and strategic planning. Since its inception in 2006 it has partnered with iconic artists including Beyonce, Eminem, Lady Gaga and The Black Keys, global brands such as Pepsi, Heineken and Converse, as well working with cable networks, digital platforms such as YouTube, Spotify, Pandora and MySpace and advertising agencies to create a wide range of entertainment properties and cross-platform series. Through their collective resources, Show Cobra and LoveLive will continue to act as complementary music specialists, delivering projects end to end, or supporting agency efforts to integrate music into their specific endeavours.

Show Cobra was founded by award-winning producer Jason Ross. Ross, who has a 20 year heritage in the music business, started his career as a recording artist and producer before moving into video, film and digital media. Following his work at MTV Networks as a music supervisor and then producer on the Emmy Award winning series ‘Made’, he founded Show Cobra as a collaborative agency focused on creating cross platform content to entertain global audiences.

The acquisition also enables LoveLive to expand their UK partnership with Universal Music to the US, delivering among many other things content to Interscope's YouTube channel on behalf of Universal, from the ground breaking YouTube Space in LA.

Richard Cohen, CEO, LoveLive said: “The creative and business synergies with Show Cobra make it an ideal acquisition for LoveLive. The breadth and depth of the team’s exceptional capabilities to execute projects across formats, production and live streaming will be of huge benefit to our IP creation, ownership and exploitation worldwide. Jason is one of the most progressive executive producers in the US and we’re confident that with him as our US President we can continue to pursue our vision to provide global audiences with the very best music experience. This marks a significant milestone and will be the perfect launch pad for further international expansion.”

Jason Ross, founder, Show Cobra said: “The LoveLive and Show Cobra teams share the same passion for music and a highly complementary business ethos. Show Cobra’s content creation expertise and its sterling track record with artists and clients combined with LoveLive’s unique rights frameworks and distribution capability will position the Group as one of the leading independent music specialists. LoveLive is innovating the music content space as we know it, and I am thrilled to be part of this new chapter.”
