LD Communications appointed as global PR agency for the Ivors



LD Communications has been appointed to handle worldwide PR for The Ivors, one of the most respected music awards, which celebrates creative excellence by British and Irish songwriters and screen composers.

Tendering for the first time in 14 years, the live music and events specialists were successfully awarded the account after a competitive three-way pitch. The Ivors is the agency’s latest client in the award show space, joining celebrated events including The BRIT Awards, The Heavy Music Awards and ASCAP’s London Music Awards.

LD Communications has been briefed to highlight the importance of the craft of songwriting, with a particular focus on music and culture specialist publications with an international reach. Key moments include announcing the nominees on the 18th April and the winners at Grosvenor House in London on Thursday 18th May.

The account will be headed up by LD Communications Co-Owner and Managing Director, Doug Wright, reporting to The Ivors Academy’s Director of Membership, Marketing and Communications, Mark Taylor. 

The Ivors are one of the most loved and respected moments in music. Presented to songwriters and screen composers for their creative achievements since 1956, each winner receives a hand-crafted Ivor Novello Award and joins a roll call of greats that includes Adele, Stormzy, Cathy Dennis, Annie Lennox, Amy Winehouse, Dave, Paul McCartney, John Lennon and Joan Armatrading. 

Commenting on the appointment, Mark Taylor said: “After a competitive tender process we decided that LD are the right PR agency to bring The Ivors to new audiences across the globe by celebrating the craft of our incredible songwriters. Together, we will shine a brighter spotlight on their achievements.”
