JOCKEY CLUB LIVE PARTNERS WITH AEG LIVE
10 October 2014 - Press releaseJockey Club Live, the joint venture between the UK’s leading racecourse group, Jockey Club Racecourses, and live music and entertainment experts Live at the Races, has announced a new partnership with one of the most respected live music promoters AEG Live.
Under this new agreement AEG Live will provide live music promotion expertise to Jockey Club Live and will assume responsibility for booking artists to appear at the company’s forthcoming shows from summer 2015 onwards.
Jockey Club Live was launched in 2013 by Andrew Wilkinson and Simon Halden, in partnership with The Jockey Club, which runs the biggest racecourse group by turnover in the UK. Wilkinson and Halden have between them worked with numerous international artists including Elton John, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Take That and Kylie Minogue among others. Wilkinson is the founder of leading concert tour production and management company KingStreet Tours, while Halden founded Sports & Outdoor Media International PLC and The Frontiers Group. Jockey Club Live was established to increase the popularity and commercial success of live music events at the 15 Jockey Club owned racecourses around the UK. Over 300,000 people attended the first season of Jockey Club Live music events throughout summer 2014.
AEG Live is one of the world’s leading companies in live entertainment promoting memorable sell-out UK tours for the world’s biggest artists including The Who, Alicia Keys, Emeli Sande, Justin Bieber, John Newman, Ed Sheeran, Bon Jovi, Guns N Roses, Britney Spears, Beyonce, Prince, Leonard Cohen, Rod Stewart and The Black Eyed Peas, as well as discovering and nurturing new talent.
The company also promotes a number of music festivals and outdoor events including Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time Hyde Park which has featured headliners including The Rolling Stones, The Libertines, Neil Young, Lionel Richie, Bon Jovi and many more.
This new agreement further strengthens Jockey Club Live’s already strong music industry credentials following the announcement in May that Tim Clark and David Enthoven the co-founders of ie: music, the international artist management firm behind Robbie Williams, Passenger and others, had joined the board of Live at the Races as Non-Executive Directors.
