HIGHLY REGARDED CREATIVE EXECUTIVE SIGNED AND DEVELOPED SUPERSTAR HALSEY

Creative music industry executive Jeremy Vuernick has been promoted to President of A&R for Capitol Music Group (CMG), it was announced today by CMG Chair & CEO Michelle Jubelirer, to whom Vuernick reports.  In his elevated position, Vuernick will draw upon his broad experience as an A&R executive to lead the company’s A&R team, sign and develop artists for the company, as well as oversee recording projects for new and established artists spanning the company’s portfolio of labels. He will work closely with Jubelirer as a key member of her executive team to set the creative direction of the company. Vuernick is based in Hollywood, California within the company’s iconic Capitol Records Tower.

Vuernick’s promotion to President comes after nearly a decade as an A&R executive at CMG. He joined the label group’s Astralwerks in 2013, and served in senior capacities at that label and at the group’s flagship Capitol Records before being promoted to Executive Vice President of A&R for CMG in 2019.

Among his many accomplishments during his tenure at CMG, Vuernick signed and developed global superstar Halsey, who has achieved multiple Platinum albums and a host of worldwide hits since 2015. Her 2021 album, If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power, has been nominated for a 2022 Grammy in the category of Best Alternative Album.  Vuernick inked numerous deals with electronic music superstar Marshmello, including that which brought his global hit “Happier,” featuring Bastille, into the Astralwerks/CMG fold. Among his many other accomplishments, Vuernick A&R’d Paul McCartney’s Grammy-nominated McCartney III Imagined and signed the Grammy-nominated Atlanta-based artist and producer TM88, who recently released the Yo!88 project with Pi’erre Bourne. He has worked closely with numerous artists across CMG’s labels, including Katy Perry, Alesso,  and with indie label powerhouse 10k Projects on developing artist Aidan Bissett. He recently triumphed in two highly competitive signings, Blu DeTiger and Justus Bennetts.

According to Jubelirer, “During the years that I’ve worked with Jeremy at CMG, he has always impressed me with his creative vision and tremendous passion for great artistry and music. He possesses the rare ability to work with artists, producers and songwriters across nearly every genre of music, and has earned enormous respect from the broad creative community. I know that everyone at CMG joins me in congratulating Jeremy on this well-deserved promotion to President of A&R.”

Vuernick commented, “After an incredible decade at Capitol Music Group, I remain unwavering in my passion for finding artists who possess a unique vision and have a singular story to tell. I look forward to continuing to work closely with Michelle and our incredible team at CMG to develop the next generation of global stars. As the landscape for music consumption continues to evolve, we are uniquely positioned to help great artists of every genre connect with fans around the world. I want to thank Michelle and [Universal Music Group Chairman & CEO Sir] Lucian [Grainge] for giving me the opportunity lead the CMG A&R team in the years ahead.”

Prior to joining Astralwerks in 2013, Vuernick was a senior executive at the New York based independent label Ultra Music, where he served in A&R, marketing and sales capacities. He joined that label in 2011, after holding various marketing and music positions while attending the University of Wisconsin’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
