Introducing PEEX - a revolutionary live music platform

PEEX, a brand-new pioneering live music platform, that is designed to improve the connection between fans and artists in new ways, has now been revealed. Making live music more interactive and personalised, PEEX is a two-part offering. First, PEEX LIVE enables music fans to create their own enhanced 5 channel mix of the live concert sound, whilst remaining truly immersed in the energy of the performance - via their wearable technology, the rX, and easy-to-use app.  In addition, PEEX RELIVE provides artists a forum to sell audio downloads of past and future live shows in PEEX's unique 5 channel interactive audio format.

PEEX offers new experiences, content and business opportunities for the whole of the music industry. Global music ticketing revenues are predicted to hit $24.6bn by 20211, and the PEEX platform is poised to grow this number further, providing new commercial opportunities for artists, labels, and venues, as well as generating additional revenue from live shows that has previously gone uncaptured.

From a technical perspective, to enable the PEEX LIVE experience, the PEEX team collaborates with artists to take an audio feed from their production and then separates this multi-channel mix into five separate stems that are transmitted to the audience. The transmitted signal is in a proprietary and encrypted format, and a fan-owned wearable PEEX rX picks up that signal and synchronises with the PA system to ensure no perceptible delay in the two sound sources. PEEX's connected Bluetooth app then provides fans the ability to personalise the experience via a 5 channel mixer set up by the musicians and instruments.

The 5 channel in-app mixer splits the sound everyone is hearing into five adjustable channels, such as the piano, which fans can then control and set up their preferred multi-mix of the sounds. The rX blends the live sound with a personal digital mix, creating the perfect concert experience and best quality audio for the user anywhere in the venue - thus the concertgoers take full control over their audio experience by having the ability to select and mix the live concert sounds in real time.

The PEEX LIVE technology has been carefully designed in order to ensure that users are not isolated from the concert experience or the social elements of a concert, while also providing choices for users to be able to enjoy the product in their own way. The rX is provided with a set of earbuds allowing some ambient sound to still be heard, which means the user's social experience at the concert isn't spoilt and allows them to continue interacting with others as normal. Should a user prefer to utilise their own headphones, they could use any pair with a standard 3.5mm jack.

Additionally, fans can relive their favourite memories and shows via PEEX RELIVE. PEEX has developed a new music format providing music downloads in the same 5 channel mixable format and high fidelity via the same in-app interface. PEEX is currently partnering with selected artists in order to offer download sales of some of their iconic previous live show recordings, all in the PEEX proprietary 5 channel format. Not only that, but fans can access the live PEEX-powered show they have just been to. With this feature, fans can relive the experience again, and again.

After years of development and testing at over 60 live shows with A-list artists and over 14 venues, PEEX is excited to announce upcoming offerings in the UK, US and Europe. PEEX will be launching soon first with downloads of iconic live shows available from an A-list artist, and the PEEX wearable receivers are due to go on pre-sale later this summer, for use at PEEX powered shows.
