09 September 2011HMV is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Hodgkinson to its Board as HMV Marketing and e-Commerce Director. Mark will take up the role on October 5th.
Mark Hodgkinson joins from Asda, where he was Digital & Financial Services Director responsible for Asda.com, Asda Direct and Asda Financial Services. Previously Mark was President Business Development/EVP Global Marketing and Digital at EMI Music, and prior to this he held various roles within Virgin Group, most notably as Chief Executive of Virgin Money. Whilst at Virgin he also set up its acclaimed loyalty business - establishing one of the biggest loyalty databases in the UK.
As a result of Mark’s extensive Marketing, e-Commerce and Digital skills, HMV is combining the roles of Marketing and e-Commerce directors, and as a consequence of this reorganisation
e-Commerce Director Steve Napleton is leaving the business with immediate effect.
HMV CEO Simon Fox, comments: "I would very much like to welcome Mark to HMV, who will bring with him tremendous marketing experience and expertise gained across a number of Industry sectors and market-leading companies, most notably in the area of loyalty, online and digital, which are key areas for HMV as we continue our transformation into a broad-based entertainment brand operating across a number of channels. I would also like to place on record my sincere thanks to Steve Napleton for his contribution to HMV, and to wish him well in his future endeavours."
