Here at Outernet & The Lower Third bring nightlife back to central London with licence extended to 4am

AFTER JUST ONE YEAR, THE GO-TO VENUES ARE REVIVING SOHO’S LATE NIGHT ECONOMY

The team behind HERE & The Lower Third, the entertainment venues part of London’s Outernet District, have announced an extension to the venues’ licence. This allows HERE & The Lower Third to remain open and operational until 4am on Fridays and Saturdays, bringing a boost to the capital’s nightlife, music scene and late night economy.

The new licensing hours give the venues the opportunity to build on what they’ve achieved over the past year, including more programming opportunities, working with a broader base of club promoters and offering more artist/DJ residencies. With this licence extension, both venues have been recognised as a peerlessly run operation, with a creative roster that draws in audiences and artists alike. Venue co-founder, Karrie Goldberg, says:

“We are thrilled  to extend our operating hours in both  HERE & The Lower Third. Since opening a year ago, we have delivered what we promised - a diverse and wide range of programming, everything from comedy, DJs, bands to fashion shows, product launches and more.

Now, with this new late licence, it allows us to provide an even broader spectrum of cultural programming. We will create space for new promoters, for sub-cultures to flourish, so we can welcome even more touring and international artists. It will support diversity and bring more live music back to central London, driving job opportunities in the music and events industries. It’s important to us to give up-and-coming artists a new place to launch their careers, as well as be a platform for global stars - and this licence extension will help us continue doing what we do best.”

HERE & The Lower Third are the only late-night venues in Soho to have secured a 4am licence, making it a key destination for clubbing.

HERE at Outernet has been thriving since it opened a year ago. The biggest venue to be built in Central London since the 1940s, HERE has hosted numerous events across music, brands, charity, fashion and more. At the cornerstone of their programming lies an epic roster of international DJs and performers such as Floating Points, Kerri Chandler, Chase & Status, Paul Van Dyk, Jodie Harsh, James Blake and many more. The venue worked with Annie Mac to launch her ‘Before Midnight’ brand, presented live shows with the likes of Daniel Avery, Jai Paul, Alison Goldfrapp and Kae Tempest, and worked alongside promoters including Percolate, Louder, LWE, Columbo Group, Parable and Labyrinth.

HERE & The Lower Third also housed the biggest pride party in Soho, Studland Soho, attracting legendary queer talent and over 2000 LGBTQ+ partygoers.

Beyond the Djs, they’ve welcomed a wildly diverse lineup of artists from Ricky Gervais, Gabriels and FLO to Jorja Smith, Years & Years and Metronomy.

HERE is a chameleon venue that can cater anything from a luxurious seated affair to an underground dance party, all in the same day. The venue’s ability to seamlessly change layouts has primed them to host  an enviable list of  brand events since opening - including product launches with Prada and Aston Martin, a catwalk show for MAC Cosmetics, premieres with Netflix, and other events and activations with clients such as Amazon, EA Sports, Sky, Chanel and Conde Nast.

In just one year HERE has sold over 87,000 tickets across 160 ticketed events for club nights and live gigs, with 22% of fans going to more than one show. Plus, The Lower Third have hosted 225 gigs showcasing tomorrow’s rising stars.

Its versatility continues to set HERE apart, alongside the venue’s impressive audio system, custom acoustic treatment, and video capabilities. Providing a vital central London venue for the global events industry, HERE is an integral part of Outernet London, a billion pound immersive entertainment district. HERE sits beneath The Now Building, Europe's largest digital exhibition space, which features 23,000 sq foot of floor-to-ceiling 16K screens - the most advanced in the world. In addition to traditional shows, the opportunities to combine both the physical and the digital across HERE and the wider Outernet district are immense.
