Grammy award winner and 2021 nominee Jacob Collier renews publishing agreement with Concord Music Publishing

Concord Music Publishing announces the renewal of the worldwide publishing agreement of multi-GRAMMY award winning artist, songwriter, composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist and producer Jacob Collier. The deal is effective immediately and will include Collier’s full catalog and future works.

The 26-year-old British musician rose to fame creating music in his bedroom in London, showing off his harmonious blend of pop, jazz and soul, and becoming a viral sensation on YouTube. This year Collier has been nominated for three GRAMMY awards including Album of the Year for Djesse Vol. 3, Best R&B Performance for “All I Need” featuring Mahalia and Ty Dolla $ign, and Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals for “He Won’t Hold You” featuring Rapsody. This brings his GRAMMY total to seven nominations and four wins.

As a songwriter and collaborator, Collier co-wrote and performed on SZA’s new single “Good Days” which has risen within the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Global 200 and reached #1 on US Spotify and US Apple Music charts simultaneously. He also cowrote two tracks, “Cry, Cry, Cry” and “Church,” off Coldplay’s Everyday Life, which is nominated for Album of the Year alongside Collier’s Djesse Vol 3. Working with Daniel Caesar on multiple projects, Collier cowrote “Restore The Feeling” from Caesar’s album Case Study 01 which peaked at #3 Billboard Top R&B albums chart.

Jacob Collier: “Working with Jeremy and the Concord Music Publishing team has been an ultimate pleasure. I can think of no greater guardians and partners for my musical journey. On top of that, they have been instrumental to the creative process by offering me a creative recording space in NYC. I’m honoured and thrilled to share this adventure with them!"

Collier released Djesse Vol. 3 in August 2020, as the third part of a four-part album series which represents his shifting sound, style and space. The album has been described by Collier as “negative acoustic distance” and features artists such as Ty Dolla $ign, Daniel Caesar, T-Pain, Mahalia, and Jessie Reyez.

In addition to today’s biggest pop, R&B and hip-hop artists, Collier has collaborated with some of the biggest names in Jazz throughout his career, including opening for Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea. The legendary record producer, Quincy Jones, who called Collier one of his “favorite young artists on the planet,” noticed him early on and signed him to his management company.

Collier made his late-night television debut, performing “All I Need” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with collaborators Ty Dolla $ign and Mahalia and most recently on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Showcasing another song from Djesse Vol 3, he performed alongside Tori Kelly for “Running Outta Love” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Even with live performance cancelled, Collier is performing via live streams on his Instagram, on NPR’s coveted Tiny Desk (Home) Concert series as well as partnering with organizations such as TED and Global Citizen, where he teamed up with Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin, for a virtual benefit to raise money for Coronavirus relief.

“We are so excited to continue working with Jacob,” said Jeremy Yohai, SVP A&R at Concord Music Publishing. “As both an artist and songwriter, Jacob’s brilliance is undeniable as he continues to push the boundaries in whatever musical space he chooses to create in. It’s been a pleasure to work with him and Michael, Adam and their entire team at Quincy Jones Productions. He deserves all the success coming his way and with our continued collaboration, we are looking to the future.”

In January 2021 Collier released “The Sun In Your Eyes – Voice Memo” a track that was recorded on his phone. The final part of his four-part album series, Djesse Vol. 4, is expected to be released later this year.
