Get Physical Music and Zebralution join forces to extend Label Management and Distribution Services on a global scale, starting with Brazil

Get Digital is the name of a new operation run by the label management team from electronic music heavyweights, Get Physical Music, and backed up by Zebralution's distribution service team. Zebralution - who recently sold a majority of its shares to Germany music rights collecting society GEMA - will supply its distribution services, know-how and technology, while the team around Get Physical ́s managing director Roland Leesker will take care of all label management related services. These include release set-up and product management, legal, marketing and promotional consulting, and neighbouring rights services. Further options include A&R consulting, royalty accounting, and publishing.

In addition to this extensive portfolio, Get Physical ́s global network of key A&Rs, producers, DJs and music managers will be integrated into Zebralution's service portfolio. The aim being to enable other labels from Zebralution ́s current roster to benefit from locally relevant and customized promotional campaigns for their output, as well as successful playlist placements.

The launch of the combined operation will start in Brazil with local representative and former Universal Music A&R, Leo Janeiro, one of the country's pioneering house DJs and a regular at clubs and large-scale events around Brazil and South America. Janeiro will be representing Get Digital/Zebralution's repertoire as well as acting as A&R manager for the Brazilian labels managed and distributed via Get Digital/Zebralution in both European markets and around the world. The establishment of further local units will be undertaken in incremental steps, with the new company focusing on developing markets.

Labels already managed by the Get Physical Music team who will be part of the new operation from its inception include: Avotré, Afro Acid, Bantwanas Collective, City Fox, Cocada Music, CLR, Festina Lente, Kindisch, Metaphysical, Poesie Musik, Tropical Beats, Otherwise Records, Warung Recordings, Words Not Enough and Swoon Recordings.

MD of Zebralution Music Oke Göttlich comments: "We are extremely happy to intensify our relationship and cooperation with Get Physical and its team. Joining forces is fundamental to expanding in different countries and tapping into local expertise in rapidly growing markets like Brazil. It is very important to build a sustainable and responsible structure for local labels in Brazil, in order to guarantee a solid foundation based around financial transaction and music service expertise on a global scale. We are looking forward to this new venture and to welcoming Leo to our team.“

Leo Janeiro (A&R Get Digital, Cocada Music) says: ''I'm very happy to be part of this team and to have the opportunity to work with what I truly love, which is music. Brazil has an incredible diversity of styles and so many great artists who are part of the country's cultural DNA. We are so blessed to be the home of such a multiplicity of talents. We want to help develop the musical and business potential of this country, contribute to an environment based on partnerships, foster worthwhile projects and build sustainable work based on collaborative ideas.’'

Get Physical MD Roland Leesker adds: "Our aims are to source and partner with new labels who will benefit from Get Physical's label management know-how, alongside worldwide distribution from Zebralution. At the same time we intend to create genuine two-way traffic by representing Zebralution's repertoire across South America, plus we will also be establishing a playlist network in order to cross-promote repertoire from both Zebralution, and the Get Digital Label Pool. We are keen to get the operation up and running and in the process learn more about the musical cultures of countries around the world, while offering them a fair deal, and our vast experience with a European perspective: Let's Get Digital!"
