Funding applications open for The Tramlines Trust

The Tramlines Trust, launched in 2022 by Sheffield’s 40,000 capacity Tramlines Festival, has announced it is now ready to receive 2023 applications. Funds of £30k were given out by the Trust last year to benefit over 40 charities, local projects and grassroot community organisations across Sheffield. The festival, now approaching its 15th edition at Hillsborough Park, is set to continue giving back to the local community, offering grants of up to £500 and in some eligible cases, grants of up to £1,000.  Applicants have until 3rd July 2023 to apply via the Tramlines website where full criteria details can also be found: https://tramlines.org.uk/tramlines-in-the-community/the-tramlines-trust/

In 2022 we doubled our fundraising and support for charitable causes, and we can’t wait to continue this for 2023. Being able to collaborate with and support Sheffield and Hillsborough organisations is a big priority for us all and we’re looking forward to reviewing this year’s applications.” 

The Tramlines Trust supports a wide range of businesses who enhance, educate or support the lives of local communities in Sheffield. It funds projects and organisations that engage with young people, those which promote South Yorkshire’s Art & Culture, and improve and raise awareness of societal issues such as the environment, homelessness and physical and mental health. 

Of the £30k grants awarded in 2022, over £10k went to businesses directly benefiting Hillsborough where the festival has been held since 2018. These included The Burton St Foundation - a community organisation hosting over 2,500 people weekly including an adult social care provision, S6 Foodbank and Hillsborough Hornets Disability Football Club. Successful applicants from 2022 are welcome to apply again in 2023.

Since 2018, Tramlines Festival has raised £150k, which in addition to supporting the Tramlines Trust, has also raised funds for The Sarah Nulty Power of Music Foundation, Hillsborough Primary School and NSPCC and many more causes.

The Tramlines Trust is part of ‘Tramlines in the Community’, a wider initiative that includes commitments to continue to improve Hillsborough Park, support the Hillsborough community, and to keep the festival accessible. Tramlines continues to work with Tickets for Good, a Sheffield-based national organisation that distributes free and discounted event tickets to NHS staff, medical students and charity workers. Tramlines Festival 2023 takes place from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd July over five stages of music, comedy and performance. The 2023 lineup includes Ricard Ashcroft, Courteeners, Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott, DMA’s, Sugababes and many more, and comes alongside a family-friendly area, an onsite pub The Open Arms, and a diverse amount of food, bespoke craft ale and vintage clothes stores.
