FUGA Partners with Single to Bring Direct-to-Consumer Commerce to Artists and Labels
06 June 2025 - Press releasePartnership with Single enables FUGA clients to seamlessly integrate music, merch, and exclusive content via Shopify
Downtown-owned, B2B distributor FUGA has announced a partnership with Single, the leading direct-to-consumer (D2C) app for artists and labels. The integration allows FUGA clients to deliver music straight to their Shopify storefronts, where they sell merchandise - bridging distribution and direct sales in a single workflow.
Traditionally, artist and label teams have had to manage their D2C sales, streaming, and digital distribution through separate platforms, leading to friction and missed opportunities. FUGA is the first music distributor to partner with Single, giving its clients a starting point to grow their DSP presence and direct-to-fan business in one place.
Now, releases can go live on streaming platforms while also powering fan engagement through listening parties, early merch drops, and exclusive communities - all on Shopify via Single. Meanwhile, D2C music sales from artist- and label-owned storefronts are reported to the US, UK, and Australian charts—turning distribution into both a launchpad and a long-term revenue engine.
"Our partnership with FUGA isn’t just about sales - it’s about transforming distribution into a direct fan connection," said Tommy Stalknecht, Co-founder and CEO at Single. "No other platform gives artists and labels this level of control, turning every release into an opportunity to engage fans, capture first-party data, and drive direct revenue. Artists thrive when they have multiple ways to build deeper relationships with their fans across multiple channels’”
This partnership marks FUGA’s first step into direct-to-consumer e-commerce, a highly anticipated feature for clients looking to unify the reach of traditional distribution with the power of direct sales and fan engagement. By integrating Single, FUGA is addressing a growing demand for streamlined, high-impact revenue solutions, positioning itself at the forefront of innovation in artist monetization.
“Artists today need full-scale business solutions,” said President of FUGA, Christiaan Kröner. “The music industry is becoming more complex, with evolving revenue streams and growing demands for direct fan relationships. We understand these challenges and always try to remain ahead of the curve in addressing them. By integrating Single’s powerful direct-to-fan app into our platform, we’re providing artists with the tools they need to monetize content, engage fans, and optimize revenue—everything they need, all in one place.”
The integration with Single reinforces FUGA’s position as a leading, innovative partner in the distribution space, consistently delivering new technological solutions to remove pain points and meet the evolving needs of creators and businesses, while unlocking new revenue opportunities for clients.
FUGA’s pioneering approach to technology has seen it celebrate many firsts in the industry, including becoming the first distributor to automate its spatial audio delivery to Apple Music in 2022, and subsequently, Tidal and Amazon Music. FUGA continues to hold a preferred partner status at all major DSPs, ensuring the highest possible standards and leading licensing terms, partnering with almost 20 new platforms in 2024 across multiple territories.
