Foxes signs to [PIAS] Recordings & VDM Music and releases comeback single
20 May 2020 - Press releasePop sensation Foxes makes her triumphant return to music with ‘Love Not Loving You’ after a game-changing three-year hiatus. Embarking on an exciting, independent chapter of her career where Foxes (real name Louisa Rose Allen) has reclaimed control, she has signed to [PIAS] Recordings and is managed by VDM Music.
Talking about adding Foxes to their exciting roster, Russell Crank (Head Of A&R [PIAS]) says “We’re delighted to have signed Louisa to our [PIAS] Recordings label. She’s a unique talent with a singular creative vision, and amongst the finest of British songwriters. It’s great to be part of an exciting new team working on the next phase of her career.”
Similarly, Vicky Dowdall (CEO of VDM Music) says “We are absolutely thrilled to add Foxes to our VDM roster. The new music is amazing and we are very much looking forward to working with Pias on the next exciting chapter of her career.”
Propelled into the industry at just 19, Foxes was at the forefront of the pop stratosphere. In 2012, Foxes featured on EDM giant Zedd’s ‘Clarity’ which won her a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording, led to her first major label signing in 2013 at Sony Music Entertainment’s RCA Records and a successful headline tour of the UK. A year later, Louisa released a newly-recorded version of ‘Let Go For Tonight’, a track that was previously featured on her Warrior EP, which charted at number seven in the UK Official Singles Charts - Louisa’s first top ten single. Later in the year, she released her critically acclaimed debut album Glorious, which featured three Top 20 singles ‘Youth’ (which reached number 12on the single’s chart alongside high profile TV sync with Debenhams), ‘Let Go For Tonight’, and ‘Holding Onto Heaven’. The album was acclaimed by critics, fellow artists and fans alike, and debuted at number five on the UK Album’s Chart. In the same year, Pharrell personally invited Foxes to join him on his UK tour after hearing her cover of his massive hit single ‘Happy’ on Radio 1.
Following the huge success of her debut album, in 2016 Foxes released her second album All I Need which featured popular singles ‘Body Talk’, ‘Better Love’, ‘Amazing’ and ‘Cruel’. After the album’s release, Louisa decided it was time to hit pause and focus on connecting with herself.
Over the past three years, she’s been doing just that - reconnecting with herself and reclaiming control as an artist. ‘Love Not Loving You’ is bold, buoyant, and transports you to the light at the end of the tunnel - the power to press play again after pressing pause. It is the beacon of strength, independence and empowerment she felt when reconnecting with herself, and describes it as “This song is about finally falling in love with myself, about not depending on anyone else for my own happiness, And being able to stand on my own two feet. I hope the message in this song can inspire others to do the same.”
