Former Shazam & LyricFind Executive Will Mills joins Audoo

Today, Audoo a London based music-tech company that has created state of the art technology to analyse & report public performance royalties, announces the appointment of Will Mills to its executive team as the Chief Commercial Officer.

Real time data analysed by Audoo’s patented audio matching technology, provides Performing Right Organisations (PROs) with the ability to deliver public performance royalties to their members with accuracy like never seen before in the music industry.

In his new role as Chief Commercial Officer, Mills’ focus will be securing partnerships with further PROs around the world, whilst also expanding Audoo’s industry leading data and analytics offering to the wider music business.

Commenting on Mills’ acceptance of the position, CEO and Founder Ryan Edwards Said: “It’s both an honour and a pleasure to have Will on board as Chief Commercial Officer. Having led teams at Shazam and LyricFind, Will truly understands our business capabilities and the impact they will have across the industry. This, paired with his passion for delivering an accurate service to artists and writers will see us become the partner of choice for public performance data.”

Mills joins Audoo from LyricFind where he was Chief Revenue Office leading the Global Sales & Business development team, completing deals with most of the World’s music streaming companies and other strategic data partnerships such as with Billboard.

Prior to LyricFind Mills was the most senior music executive at Shazam for over a decade, leading all deals and relations with the Global Music Industry and co-invented patented technology used in the popular consumer app.

Mills has also consulted to Warner Music Group and co-founded the company Dynamic Music, acquired by BMG in 2020.

On joining the team, Mills said: “I’m delighted to be joining Audoo at this huge growth stage for the company in its mission to revolutionise performance royalties. The issues of accuracy and transparency with music data have never been more important and I look forward to leading Audoo’s business relations with the Global Music industry.”

The news follows the recent announcement of the closure of Audoo’s £5.2m series A funding round, which included investment from ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus and Tileyard London.
