FLG welcomes As It Is to roster
10 September 2025 - Press releaseFLG, the Frontiers Label Group imprint dedicated to alternative and modern rock, is thrilled to welcome transatlantic pop-rock quartet As It Is to its roster.
Following their triumphant return in 2025 - marked by the release of “A Decade Uneventful” (b-sides and rarities) and the star-studded re-recording of their debut album Never Happy, Ever After - the band is now preparing to launch a bold new chapter.
Past recipients of Rock Sound magazine’s ‘ICON’ and ‘Power Of Music’ editorial awards, and a globally recognised touring and festival act, As It Is are set to release their first new music from the classic lineup since 2018 this week, with more in the works for 2026.
Guitarist and vocalist Ben Biss shared the band’s excitement:
“Signing to a new label wasn’t something we took lightly. For a long time, we thought the only right choice was staying independent for the first time in our career, but we are a band that loves and values a dedicated team around us. So, when FLG approached us, their level of enthusiasm for the new songs was contagious and inspiring. Tim Bailey was our Bristol promoter for almost 10 years, so having people on the team who have seen and understand our whole journey is very exciting. They get what this band is about now, today, and they believe in the new mission statement. The team have been incredible so far, and we’re excited for what the future holds for this new chapter of As It Is with FLG”.
Leander Gloversmith, Future History Management, commented:
“Having worked with As It Is for over a decade, we have navigated the multitude ups and downs that come with the turf of building a long-term career for an internationally touring, self-sufficient rock band - including a label acquisition and a hiatus that was simultaneously necessary and inevitable. But since March 2025, when the stars began to align for our collective “getting the gang back together” moment, I can honestly say I have never seen the guys this engaged, enthusiastic and passionate about their craft and career. It goes without saying that all partners we brought into the ecosystem needed to match that energy, but FLG have met us exactly where we are at. We’re very excited to forge a new path for As It Is alongside a team of partners who understand what is needed”.
Ryan Richards, Future History Management CEO, added:
“We’re delighted to be partnering with Leo, Tim, and the team over at FLG, and look forward to reintroducing As It Is to a new audience worldwide off the back of what we believe is their strongest material to date. ‘Lose Your Way To Find Yourself’ is a great look into the future for a band that’s only just getting started”.
For FLG, the partnership is equally meaningful. With this signing, the label continues to build a roster that celebrates creativity, authenticity, and the next generation of breakthrough rock talent.
Leo Nicholas, Head of A&R at FLG, stated:
“Signing As It Is to FLG is a surreal full-circle moment for me. Almost fifteen years ago, Leander was managing Lower Than Atlantis, one of the very first bands I signed to indie label A Wolf At Your Door. That experience was a defining one early in my career, and to now find ourselves working together again all these years later feels incredibly special. To be collaborating on the next chapter of a band with the calibre, drive, and creative vision of As It Is, is both an honour and a privilege, and I’m excited about what we can achieve together”.
Tim Bailey, Head of Label – International at Frontiers Label Group, concluded:
“It’s over 11 years since I first worked with Leander on Neck Deep and a decade since I promoted the first of many shows I did for As It Is, so this feels like a full circle moment for me, too. It’s incredibly exciting to be with everyone again. The band have crafted a record full of heart and widescreen ambition, and I can’t wait it to watch it take flight”.
