Ella Eyre Head In The Ground release

Ella Eyre returns with the release of her brand new single Head In The Ground featuring Tiggs Da Author, out now via Play It Again Sam [PIAS]. The single, which was written at a creative crossroads in her career, marks the beginning of a brand new era for Ella, who is releasing music as an independent artist for the very first time.

Receiving its first play on Clara Amfo’s Future Sounds show on Radio 1 last night, Head In The Ground see’s Ella explore a new soulful sound in the new material, as she moves with humility and authenticity towards the music she was always meant to make. The single features the MOBO nominated singer, rapper and producer Tiggs Da Author and is available to listen to here.

With a career spanning over a decade Ella has enjoyed huge success, having signed her first major record deal at just 16. Rising to prominence after featuring on vocals for Rudimental’s double platinum number one single Waiting All Night in 2014 - which later won the BRIT Award for British Single of the Year - Ella went on to win two MOBO Awards, secured two further platinum selling singles and a top 5 album.

Ella said, Head in the Ground is my first ever independent release and I am so excited to be putting this one out first. It’s an admission of my own complacency at a difficult time in my life and I wrote this song as a bit of a slap on the wrist to myself, because I know better than to run away from the things that scare me. Sometimes you have to make fun of a sticky situation to see the light and I had A LOT of fun making this record.”

Ella is set to perform the single and further new material for the first time live at the iconic Jazz Cafe in London, where she has sold out two nights for November 27 and 28. She will play a further Jazz Cafe show on March 22 followed by a date at Band On The Wall in Manchester on March 23.
