19 November 2025 - Press releaseLatest investments include multi-platinum and chart-topping hits from Avicii, Tinie Tempah, and Trey Songz, as well as EDM anthem 'Sunshine'
Dynamite Songs ('Dynamite' or the 'Company'), the specialist music publisher dedicated to acquiring and managing smaller catalogues with culturally significant songs, has acquired certain rights and royalty streams from the catalogues of American singer-songwriter Eric Turner, American R&B producer and songwriter John '$K' McGee, and British electronic music stars TIEKS and Dan Harkna.
Dynamite's three latest deals include almost 150 time-tested and chart-topping songs, including Tinie Tempah's multi-platinum hit 'Written In The Stars', Avicii's 'Broken Arrows', TIEKS's 'Sunshine' (feat. Dan Harkna), and Trey Songz's 'Neighbors Know My Name', a standout track on the artist's Grammy-nominated third album 'Ready'.
The investments mark the latest phase in Dynamite's carefully managed expansion since it officially announced its launch in May this year. They join the Company's growing portfolio of around 1,200 works, which the team continues to actively manage through diligent administration, sync placements and strategic promotion, ensuring that both they, and their writers, continue to resonate with new audiences.
Eric Turner is an American singer, songwriter and producer best known for co-writing and performing on Tinie Tempah's 2010 global hit 'Written in the Stars', which topped the UK charts and reached No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100, earning multi-platinum certifications across the US, UK, Norway, Australia, and New Zealand. Turner has also collaborated extensively with Avicii, appearing on and co-writing 'Dancing in My Head' and 'Broken Arrows', and contributed to UK pop-rock band Lawson's singles 'Learn to Love Again' and "Juliet". His writing and vocal credits include releases with Inna ('Bop Bop') and Sebjak ('Fire Higher'). Dynamite has acquired Turner's publishing and songwriting rights, along with associated global publishing and performance royalties, for these songs and other selected works from his catalogue.
John McGee (also known as "$K") is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and Grammy-nominated songwriter known for shaping the sound of modern R&B. He co-wrote and co-produced Trey Songz's 'Neighbors Know My Name' from the Grammy-nominated album 'Ready', which reached No. 4 on the Billboard R&B / Hip-Hop chart and earned Gold certification in the US. His catalogue also includes album cuts with Trey Songz ('On Top', 'Be My Guest') and singles for Jacquees, including 'Who's', 'Your Peace', and 'Be My Guest'. Dynamite's acquisition comprises Mcgee's publishing and songwriting rights, along with associated global publishing and performance royalties, for these songs and additional works from his catalogue.
Last but not least, Dynamite has acquired the publishing and recording rights to summer dance classic 'Sunshine', by writer and producer Mark Tieku ("TIEKS") and writer and artist Dan Harkna. TIEKS is a British producer, songwriter, and DJ whose work spans dance, pop, and electronic music. He has collaborated with artists including Florence + The Machine, Duke Dumont, Ben Khan, and others, contributing to a diverse range of UK and international releases. His breakthrough single 'Sunshine', written with and featuring British singer and songwriter Dan Harkna, remains his best-known work – a vibrant house track that brought his name to global attention. "Sunshine" became a breakout hit after featuring in Fiat's 500 "Fresh" campaign, following which the track topped Shazam's TV Ad Chart, entered the UK Top 40 Dance Chart, and earned a coveted spot on BBC Radio 1's A-list, receiving twelve plays in a single weekend.
Alan Wallis, CEO of Dynamite Songs, said: "What excites me most about these latest deals is how clearly they embody what Dynamite stands for – selective, high-quality acquisitions of music that truly matters. With around 1 billion total streams between them, these catalogues have consistently demonstrated their commercial strength. We're deeply grateful to John, Eric, Mark and Dan for entrusting us with these incredible works. As our robust pipeline of potential deals continues to expand, we look forward to partnering with even more creators who share our passion for timeless music and value our artist-first approach to dealmaking."
John "$K" McGee commented: "Selling my catalogue to Dynamite Songs was ultimately about trust and vision. After years of building a body of work I'm proud of, I wanted to partner with a team that not only understands the value of the music but knows how to elevate it for future generations. Dynamite brought both the creative respect and strategic insight I was looking for. This move allows me to focus fully on what I love – making new music – while knowing the legacy of my past work is in the right hands."
Dan Harkna, co-writer and featured artist behind 'Sunshine', reflected on the creation of the song: "Somehow TIEKS knew it was a hit song from the moment he heard the demo. A cheap bass synth bouncing around a percussive chord progression. A vocal melody with no intelligible lyric, except one...'Sunshine... Sunshine... Sunshine... Shining down on me...' There was no formula here. TIEKS nonchalantly mutters 'ye this is a hit'. I shrug. And that's basically the way it went down."
TIEKS, speaking about the new partnership, added: "With Dynamite we instinctively felt like... yeah, they get it. It was immediately obvious that they have genuine care and respect for the artists they choose to work with and the music they handle. We feel fortunate to have partnered with Alan and his team."
Eric Turner said: "It feels great to let these songs go and live their lives with Dynamite Songs! I'm sure they are going to be listened to for a long time."
Last month, Dynamite built on its recent momentum with the opening of a new office at The Union Club in Soho, London, further cementing the Company's presence at the heart of the city's creative community and providing space for its expanding team.
In May of this year, Dynamite announced that it had acquired rights to music performed by artists including Ed Sheeran, Kendrick Lamar, Papa Roach, ATB, Dan+Shay, and others. Following this, in September, the Company announced that it had acquired over 200 songs from Grammy-winning producer Keith Harris, the creative force behind hits for The Black Eyed Peas, Madonna, Usher, Estelle, and Chrisette Michele.
