Dice launches new product feature Groups to help fans attend more live events with friends

“Groups” Offers Fans One Place to Discover Shows, Find Friends to Join, and Purchase Tickets Together

DICE, the ticketing and live event discovery platform, has launched a new fan feature named Groups. Developed by DICE’s Product team in response to user behavior trends on the platform and recent data, this tool helps fans connect with friends and coordinate going out, reducing the stress of group admin and fatigue from switching between multiple apps.

According to a recent DICE survey of over 1,000 fans globally, 95% of fans who have gone out less since the pandemic would like to attend more events now, but 28% of those fans cite not having anyone to attend with. Additionally, a Facebook IQ study conducted in 2020 showed that 15% of people polled actually missed an event within the year because they had no one to go with.

Live in-app now, Groups aims to take the hassle out of the planning required to see artists and shows. It’s a one-stop shop for fans to discover events, find people to go with by recommending shows directly to friends, and buy tickets as a group. Groups helps facilitate more ticket purchases, creating higher turnouts to support the artists and venues.

“We’ve all made unforgettable shared memories and found our communities at shows—it shouldn’t feel like work to arrange your next night out,” said DICE President, Russ Tannen. “DICE’s mission from day one has been to get people out more. We’re proud to constantly innovate with fan-first features like Groups that make it easier than ever to enjoy live shows with your friends.”

How Groups works on DICE:

  • Fans have the option to create a Group from their profile or when saving an event.
  • Once friends have joined via the invite link, Group members can collectively vote on events they want to attend and see who else is interested.
  • Fans will be notified of Group updates, including when people have bought tickets.
  • When everyone’s ready to book, fans can easily continue to checkout and purchase tickets individually or for the Group.

“Seeing my favorite musicians and DJs play is taken to a whole other level when the experience is shared with friends, so I’m excited that Groups is out in the world to help people lock in their plans with a lot less hassle. The feature has so much potential and it’ll continue to evolve. Watch this space.” said DICE Senior Product Manager, Sabrina Cohan.

Groups is DICE’s latest product feature encouraging fans to get out more. DICE has over 10,000 venue and promoter partners worldwide, making it easy for fans to discover the best live eventsOver 40% of DICE’s sales come via discovery, which utilizes algorithms as well as Spotify and Apple Music integrations to recommend personalized events and suggested shows for friends to enjoy together.

DICE’s seamless app locks tickets to smartphones, protecting fans from secondary resales, whilst ensuring fair and transparent pricing. DICE also offers a Waiting List which gets activated when a show sells out, giving fans the chance to enjoy an event at a fair price and helping artists and venues to benefit from hosting sold out events.
