dArKMode Become First UK Artists to Release Album on South Korean KiT Format

“We come from the darkness and shall remain in it” Goes to #1 On New Chart

UK based duo dArKMode have become the first British artists to release an album on groundbreaking South Korean music format, KIT, which has already enjoyed significant traction among fans of the region’s K-Pop stars with millions of units sold since its initial launch in 2018.

International artists who have already enjoyed success with releases on the KiT music format include Weezer, Jason Mraz and Snoop Dogg.

dArKMode is Wulfzeit and Zale Alpha, two like-minded multi-instrumentalists who release music via their own label 5363326 Records DK and are signed to Blue Raincoat Music Publishing.

KiT is a hybrid music format, which offers fans the opportunity to enjoy physical packaging and exclusive inserts alongside full quality digital music files and access to all the release’s original creative content via a dedicated App, which can be activated by connecting their KiT packaging to their smartphone or mobile tablet.

The KiT physical packaging can also be attached to bags, rucksacks and other hand luggage and many fans do so to demonstrate their loyalty to particular artists.

dArKMode, who are also ambassadors for acclaimed, international streetwear brand No Fixed Abode, released their eleven-track debut album “We come from the darkness and shall remain in it,” via ‘traditonal’ music platforms on March 18th and on KiT on April 9th and have since enjoyed critical and commercial success in South Korea, and sparking interest for China and Japan, becoming the number one selling artist in that format on the KIT weekly chart.

The duo have also collaborated with Zunn Stone, a like minded experimental South Korean artist on the track Dogs which has also sparked press interest and will be also released as a single from the dArKMode album.

In a joint statement dArKMode said, “We wanted to be different, so we are excited to be the first British act to release on this exciting new format. It's a no brainer when it comes to physical products for the nu-gen of music consumers wanting quality of sound with cutting edge technology and fashion combined.  South Korea seems to have welcomed us and holds promise for our blend of leftfield hi-octane beats and unconventional approaches, but not only the music, also to navigating the current industry itself.”
