Raft of new Signings Also Announced - Starsailor and Maximo Park among additions to the Cooking Vinyl Roster
London based independent record label Cooking Vinyl has announced the promotions of two key executives to senior positions.
General Manager Rob Collins, who has been with the company since January 1999, has been promoted to the position of Managing Director of Cooking Vinyl Ltd and Chris Farrow, who was previously Marketing Manager, has been elevated to Head of UK Marketing and Product Management. Both appointments are effective immediately.
Martin Goldschmidt, Chairman and CEO of Cooking Vinyl said, “Both Rob and Chris have been instrumental in the success we have enjoyed and continue to enjoy and these promotions are recognition of their importance to our company’s growth moving forward. Loyalty is a rare commodity and both Rob and Chris have shown real commitment to Cooking Vinyl so I am delighted to reward their hard work and dedication.”
Cooking Vinyl has also announced several new signings to join artists including Richard Ashcroft, The Prodigy, Billy Bragg, Alison Moyet, Suzanne Vega, Marilyn Manson, Lissie, Deap Vally and many more.
Four new artists are joining the company’s roster, all of whom will be releasing new material in the early part of 2017:
Me and that Man: a brand new project from Nergal, the frontman from acclaimed rock band Behemoth.
Starsailor : recently reformed (featuring all the original members), the band are out on the road in the UK this December and recording their 5th album. Last studio album ‘All the Plans’ was released in March 2009 - new tour dates here: http://www.starsailorband.co.uk/tour.asp
Maximo Park - the Newcastle based band will release their 6th album on Cooking Vinyl next year, their first since the Top 10 ‘Too Much Information’ in 2014.
Lewis Watson - releases his second album in 2017, the follow up to 2014’s acclaimed ‘The Morning’,
Rob Collins said, “Signing artists of the proven calibre of Lewis, Nergal, Starsailor and Maximo, all of who have enjoyed both critical and commercial success, is testament to the work Cooking Vinyl has being doing in recent years. It’s also a nod towards us broadening the roster to work with younger and more contemporary artists, which is vitally important as streaming becomes the dominant method of consumption.”
