Concord Music Publishing Announces Global Publishing Deal With J Hus

Concord Music Publishing has announced the signing of British rap icon J Hus to a global publishing agreement, further expanding its roster of world-class talent.

The deal, which includes all of J Hus’s future works, follows his sold-out show at London’s Royal Albert Hall last month. It reflects Concord’s ongoing commitment to working with genre-defining artists. J Hus has also recently released new single “Gold,” with Nigerian artist Asake, produced by P2J.

The agreement sees Concord representing all of J Hus’s future copyrights worldwide, further cementing their commitment to fostering innovative and culturally significant voices in global music. Patrick Lubega, A&R Manager at Concord Music Publishing in London, will handle day-to-day management and coordination of the catalogue.

J Hus, born Momodou Lamin Jallow, is widely credited with pioneering the UK’s Afro-swing sound, blending Afrobeat, rap, dancehall, and grime with unmatched lyrical agility. His debut album Common Sense (2017) was hailed as a modern classic, earning a Mercury Prize nomination and going Platinum in the UK. Its follow-up, Big Conspiracy (2020), debuted at #1 on the UK Albums Chart.

His most recent album Beautiful and Brutal Yard (2023) also debuted at #1, featuring collaborations with Burna Boy, Drake, and Jorja Smith, and solidified his place as a global tastemaker and chart force. He has received numerous accolades, including MOBO Awards, a BRIT nomination, and widespread critical acclaim for his genre-bending artistry.
