CARYN TOMLINSON APPOINTED SVP, CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS AT UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP INTERNATIONAL
01 November 2012Caryn Tomlinson has been appointed Senior VP, Corporate Communications, at Universal Music Group International (UMGI), with immediate effect. She will report to Max Hole, Chief Operating Officer, UMGI, and Peter LoFrumento, President, Global Communications & Chief Communications Officer, Universal Music Group.
Universal Music Group is the world’s leading music company. UMGI is the division which manages its businesses in more than 50 countries outside the United States.
In her new role, based in London, Tomlinson will be responsible for all UMGI’s internal and external corporate communications and media relations, working closely with its business units and operating companies around the world.
Tomlinson has been Senior VP, Artist Relations, Global at EMI Music since 2006, having joined the company in 2002. Previously, she was PR Director for UK/Europe at EMI Music Publishing, where she worked from 1994-2001, and Business Co-ordinator for Mick Jagger from 2001-2002, based in Los Angeles and London. Earlier in her career, she held posts at London Records and 19 Management.
Tomlinson succeeds Adam White, UMGI’s VP Communications, who is retiring. He has been with Universal Music in that capacity since 2002, following a long career in journalism on both sides of the Atlantic with Billboard, Music Week and Rolling Stone, among others.

She will also bring a new, fresh approach to the way we do things.”
