Capitol Music Group (CMG) and Caroline, its independent distribution and label services division, has signed an agreement with K-pop supergroup SuperM through Seoul, Korea-based SM Entertainment Co., Ltd.

The announcement was made today at the 2019 Capitol Congress by CMG Chairman & CEO Steve Barnett, Caroline President Jacqueline Saturn and Soo-Man Lee, famed executive music producer and founder of Korea’s largest entertainment company, SM Entertainment.
Executive Music Producer Soo-Man Lee, who has led the global K-pop phenomenon since its inception, upon CMG’s request, Mr. Lee produced SuperM through SMP (SM Music Performance), drawing from some of the most popular K-pop acts in the world to create the diverse group. SuperM’s seven members –Taemin from SHINee, EXO’s Baekhyun and Kai, NCT 127's Taeyong and Mark, and Lucas and Ten of Chinese band WayV – were presented today at Capitol Congress. The annual meeting for Capitol Music Group staffers and other influential music industry figures also featured appearances by such artists as Katy Perry, Marshmello and Halsey.
SuperM will receive a grand-scale U.S. launch in October 2019, which will include the group’s first music releases and debut U.S. live performances. Capitol Music Group/Caroline will provide distribution and orchestrate comprehensive marketing, promotion and publicity campaigns in support of SuperM. In addition to today’s announcement a high-energy trailer, was unveiled at Capitol Congress. Soo-Man Lee, famed executive music producer and founder of Korea’s largest entertainment company, SM Entertainment states, “We have put together 7 super talented artists to perform differentiated music. Super M will show you the core values of K-pop with music performance, fashion, and videos. All on a completely different scale, each with exceptional talent in dance, vocal, and rap.”
