Camelphat signs to RCA Records05 December 2018 - Press release
British DJ and production duo CamelPhat signed to RCA Records on Friday 30.11.18.
Mike Di Scala and Dave Whelan are CamelPhat, an electronic duo traversing various styles of deep house and techno. Formed in 2008, the pair put out a number of digital EPs and singles via Vice and Nervous Records before signing to Dutch EDM label Spinnin' Records in 2014. Enjoying chart success in Belgium with tracks such as "Constellations," "Paradigm," "Make 'Em Dance," and "The Act," they came to widespread prominence in 2017 with "Cola," a collaborative track produced with fellow electronic musician Elderbrook.
Says David Dollimore, President RCA Records and Ministry Of Sound: “Camelphat are a global main stage act. They are exceptionally talented pioneers of credible electronic music, a genre and culture I have been immersed in for many years. “Cola” is a record that is timeless that people in years to come will still refer to or play. RCA are delighted to be working with Camelphat. 2019 will certainly be their biggest year to date!”
Say CamelPhat: “It’s been a long time coming & a massive weight off our shoulders. We had 4 majors chasing the deal all summer long so at times it was a lil stressful but we’re both feeling very excited & thankful we finally got the deal we always wanted. We just want to get on with it now, Lock our selves away & surround ourselves with the best emerging talent we can possibly get & take the album to the next level. It’s going to be a huge priority for the next few months.”
