MUSICIANS EMPOWERED ‘FROM THE INSIDE OUT’

A new and affordable online resource and membership community has launched to help young musicians flourish in the sometimes cut-throat music industry. 

Becoming The Artist launched in June 2021, giving emerging Artists from all over the world music industry guidance and connections, alongside supporting their confidence, mind-set, self-care, and mental health awareness. It hopes to create a wave of positivity in the music industry, empowering new Artists to take control of their careers and honour their authenticity from the outset rather than feel the need to change in various ways to meet any pressures they may face. 

Becoming The Artist was founded by Bernice MacDonald (Bernii) also founder of The Bernii Mac Agency, to ground and support musical creatives as they navigate the business. Based on her own experiences both on and off the stage her vision is that emerging Artists will come together and share their journey in a friendly, safe and encouraging environment. The site also leans towards supporting those who struggle with confidence and excessive self-doubts, whom Bernii feels are often overlooked or dismissed but can have a lot to offer.

Becoming The Artist features weekly interactive mentoring calls with Bernii and other professionals on a variety of industry topics, video content including in-depth business knowledge, artist interviews, and practical mindset tools both from Bernii herself and qualified life coaches. Finally, it offers a fortnightly online performance workshop where Artists can showcase their songs and enjoy the community. This community is encouraged to actively shape what the resource becomes so that it grows to be what they, the new wave of Artists, need in the world and will be very much led by their feedback.
