Beatport Evolves Beatportal Into Community Driven Hub To Bring Fans Closer to Creators

For the last five years, Beatport, the global leader in music for DJs, producers, and their fans, has expressed its vision to the global dance music community via its news and culture website Beatportal, establishing the site as an essential touchpoint for DJ culture. Now, along with a fresh new design, Beatportal is shifting its editorial strategy to empower DJs, producers, artists, labels and other luminaries to communicate directly with the thousands of fans who regularly visit the site. 

“As we continue to evolve our voice with Beatportal, we need to give DJs, producers and artists the opportunity to speak directly with their audience,” said Charles Morgan, Chief Marketing Officer at Beatport. “With this latest evolution, we continue to cement Beatportal’s reputation as the primary hub for our community for many years to come.” 

Beatportal will continue to offer the same editorial experience that DJs and their fans have come to love about the site, but now will feature two more verticals – Education and Entertainment. Inaugural contributors to Beatportal’s education offerings include Pete Tong DJ Academy, Future Female Sounds, ProducerTech and CrossFader. Additionally, content gathered at the dance music community’s recent gathering at IMS in Ibiza, which took place from April 23-26, is well represented on the new site. Long time Beatport partners, including Armada, Defected, Fabric and The Circuit Group, will be providing frontline editorial and entertainment content in the coming weeks. 

Beatportal was originally conceived in 2010 as a go-to destination for news, interviews, features, emerging artist discovery, music industry discussions, DJing, producing and more. It went offline in 2012, but was relaunched in 2019. Since then Beatportal has featured and interviewed hundreds of artists, telling their stories, supplying exclusive playlists from globally renowned artists, featuring the latest news from around the world.. This new evolution in Beatportal content promises to bring DJs and their fans even closer together as a more interactive and direct experience.
