ASCAP Promotes Gabriela González to SVP International Affairs & Latin Membership

The American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), the only US performing rights organization that operates as a not-for-profit, promotes Gabriela (Gaby) González to Senior Vice President, International Affairs and Latin Membership. In her new and expanded role, González will work with Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking societies in Europe and Latin America and continue her leadership role on ASCAP’s Latin Membership team. González and her Latin Membership team will work closely with the ASCAP International Affairs team to partner with ASCAP’s sister societies in these regions to increase revenues and distributions for music creators.

González has led the ASCAP Latin Membership team, including team members based in offices in Los Angeles, New York, Miami and Puerto Rico, as Vice President of Membership since 2016. Since joining the organization, González has nurtured and signed some of ASCAP’s top talent including Marco Antonio Solís, Camilo, Natti Natasha, Claudia Brant, Jhayco, Sebastián Yatra, Farruko and Kali Uchis among others.

González provides a distinct competitive advantage in the Latin market, leveraging close relationships with the executive leadership of international music societies in Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Peru to name a few. She continues to play a key role in developing the careers of ASCAP composers and songwriters, recruiting new members and serving all of ASCAP's Latin writer and publisher members.

Under her leadership, the ASCAP Latin team has created a variety of artist development programs, including Latin and mixed-genre song camps in different territories. Recently, she helped spearhead the launch of “Tu Música,” an ASCAP Foundation scholarship for undergraduate or graduate students of Latin descent who are planning to pursue a songwriting career and/or a performance career in Latin music. González has been named to the Billboard Latin Power Players List for five consecutive years since 2018.  

She was born in Los Angeles and raised in Argentina and attended Universidad del Salvador.
