Amazon Music x Twitch take-over with Scruff of the Neck

Taking place Thursday 17th September across Amazon Music UK’s Twitch channel, the night will see performances from three rising acts on the label roster - Lucy Deakin, Glass Caves and BILK - all filmed at Manchester’s legendary venue Band on the Wall.
Scruff of the Neck have gone from strength to strength as a label over the last decade, marking many milestones in a decade of history, scooping the prestigious ‘Best Small Label’ at the AIM awards last year, and nurturing a wealth of huge talent on their fiercely independent label.
One of the north’s most hyped bedroom pop acts at the moment, Lucy Deakin has caused a storm with her recent singles, garnering support from the likes of Dork and Clash plus a host of Amazon Music’s flagship editorial playlists ahead of the release of her debut EP next month. Meanwhile, Pontefract’s Glass Caves bring an unrivaled energy to their live performances, becoming local heroes over the last few years, with a storming, remarkably unique sound that primes them for the bigtime. Essex trio BILK also join the lineup for this huge one off event, delivering a dose of rapid-fire punk tracks. Having toured the UK extensively and ticked off big showcases at The Great Escape, Leeds Festival, Live At Leeds, Hit The North and Reeperbahn, their live reputation precedes them.
Each artist will perform a 25-30 minute set following a Q&A from the host Jack Howard, shedding light on their upcoming projects and how they’re dealing with the challenges this year has thrown at them.
The Amazon-owned platform Twitch has an average 1.5 million viewers at any given moment and has been working to support musicians more and more during the covid 19 pandemic. Announced earlier this month, Amazon Music is also one of the first major digital music retailers to integrate livestreaming as part of their platform, now a vital activity for artists wanting to connect with fans in lieu of playing traditional live shows. Scruff of the Neck’s takeover is a pioneering event and with exclusive sets from Lucy Deakin, Glass Caves and BILK will be unmissable.
Scruff of the Neck are undoubtedly the most exciting small independent label in the business right now, and this partnership with Amazon and Twitch will seamlessly showcase the label’s aspirations for 2020/21, and introduce a new audience to the artists that will define the landscape over the next 12 months.
