Alexander Vazelakis named Head of A&R for Ultra Records



Leading dance and electronic A&R executive Alexander Vazelakis has been named head of A&R for Ultra Records, it was announced today.
 
Based in Los Angeles, he reports to David Waxman, President, Ultra Records.
 
Commenting on the appointment, Waxman stated, "Alex has a keen ear for talent and extensive industry expertise. We are excited to have him leading the A&R team in this new chapter of his career at Ultra and look forward to the contributions he will make to further elevate the artistry and success of our roster."
 
An accomplished leader in talent scouting and artist development in the dance and electronic music scene, Vazelakis previously spent nearly a decade with Ultra Records working with artists such as Sofi Tukker, Icona Pop, Steve Aoki, Anabel Englund and DVBBS. He also received a Grammy recognition for his A&R work on the Grammy award-winning album "Subconsciously" by Black Coffee.
 
Since 2022, he has served as VP of A&R at both Helix Records and Ultra Publishing, where he signed a diverse range of talent and assembled some of Helix's biggest collaborations such as Jamie Jones & Channel Tres' "Got Time for Me", San Holo& Aurora's "Bring Back The Color" and Snakehips & Lucky Daye's "Solitude".
 
A graduate of UCLA, Vazelakis began his career with Ultra Records as an intern in 2012 and later held a variety of A&R roles for the label before being named Vice President of A&R in 2018.
