Alex Black named Vice President, A&R, Peermusic
26 November 2025 - Press releasePeermusic, the world’s largest global independent music publishing and neighbouring rights company with 39 offices in 32 countries, has appointed Alex Black to Vice President, A&R as announced today by Jamie Cerreta, President U.S. and Canada, Peermusic. In this role, Alex Black will work to sign and develop Peermusic’s roster of songwriters and producers in the U.S. Alex Black will based out of Peermusic’s Los Angeles office and will report to Jamie Cerreta.

In addition to his work with Peermusic, Alex Black runs his own management company, Home Run Management, whose clients include cktrl, Banshee The Great and Eli Keszler.
With over 18 years of A&R experience, Alex Black previously served as Vice President, A&R for Hipgnosis Songs Group (and prior to that Big Deal Music Group) where he worked to oversee the growth of frontline publishing business and signed Beach House, Amber Mark, Lucy Dacus, Weyes Blood, Phoelix, Mick Jenkins, Loren Humphrey, Hatchie, Dean Reid, Kieron Menzies, Cam Avery (Tame Impala) and established creative joint ventures with Godmode and Stomp Down. In this role he also worked to help expand the creative department, while mentoring existing employees.
Prior to that, Alex Black worked as Director, A&R, Warner Records, where he signed or served as the A&R point person for Twin Shadow, Bankz & Steelz (The RZA & Paul Banks), Tegan and Sara, and Death From Above 1979.
From 2008 through 2011, Alex worked as Manager, A&R for Interscope Records where he worked with TV on the Radio, Major Lazar, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs, as well as commissioned remixes such as A-Trak “Heads Will Roll.”
Black got his start working as an A&R intern for Warner Bros. Records while still in high school. His experience also includes assisting one of the founders of Goldenvoice on Coachella and Stagecoach Festivals; serving as Northeast College Rep for Warner Music Group; and as an A&R scout for Capitol Music Group. Black graduated from Emerson College in Boston with a B.A. in Media Studies where he worked as a DJ on WERS (the #1 college radio station in the U.S.) hosting Uncommon Rotation, a weekly show focused on new music.
In the U.S., Peermusic has recently announced a series of key executive moves within it A&R team, including the appointments of Jamie Cerreta to President of US and Canada in August 2025 and the appointment of Dave Ayers to EVP of A&R, in September 2025.
