AIP to launch UK promoter diversity database
08 May 2025 - Press releaseContributions needed from the sector for pioneering resource.
The Association of Independent Promoters (AIP) is calling for contributions to a growing diversity database that will define the spectrum of live music promoters in the UK today.
The database will be launched in September 2025 and will be a go-to resource for venues, agents, artists, journalists, conference organisers and gig-goers who want to strike the diversity balance in their businesses, programmes, coverage and experiences.
AIP is currently encouraging sign-ups to the database from UK-based live music promoters, including those who are women/non-binary, LGBTQI+, neurodiverse, d/Deaf and disabled and ethnically diverse, via this form.
The resource is being developed in association with Women In CTRL, LOUDWOMEN, Black Lives In Music, MVT, AIF, AIE, LIVE and Tonic Music.
Anna Moulson co-chair said: “The lack of diversity is an industry-wide problem and we feel we are in a position to make a direct and significant contribution towards tackling it. It is well-known that greater representation leads to better businesses and, ultimately, better consumer experiences. With this new diversity database, a first-of-its-kind, we hope to raise awareness of UK promoters from underrepresented groups, backgrounds and communities. By doing this, we hope to contribute to a more inclusive, interesting and innovative live industry.”
