ThatTrack™ launches cause-driven catalogue With Purpose

ThatTrack™ is launching a new collection of music that speaks directly to social issues by giving artists a platform to write freely about topics that affect them, a collection they’re calling With Purpose. This music was written specifically for content creators to discover on ThatTrack™,  giving a home to music with a mission, not typically available for commercial use by creators.

Many content creators use their platforms to share and speak out on certain political, societal, or cultural topics. What creators need, and have a hard time finding, is music that aligns with their views. With Purpose aims to encourage discussion and expression and promote freedom and unity through music. Whether discussing race, sexuality, gender, equality, reproductive rights or the environment, the With Purpose collective has powerful songs that can elevate content or further communicate a creator’s position with a commercial edge. Music paired with video helps bring emotion and depth to the stories told, supplementing spoken word or a video compilation with meaningful audio.

ThatTrack™ takes this a step further, utilizing its AI-powered search engine, One-Click Searches, and curated playlists to help content creators find the perfect audio match to fit their project – tools comparable to the curation available for professionals in the film and tv industries. This is specialized music discovery for the growing group of people who aren’t music supervisors, yet still want to find professional music for their content. With over 30,000 tracks available, ThatTrack™ will continue to release high quality new music, including music by With Purpose artists, on the platform.

“Some creators scour other platforms for music to speak to societally relevant themes, but they haven’t had a clear route for discovery until ThatTrack™,” says ThatTrack™ CMO James Clarke. “With Purpose artists have a home on our platform, and can speak to the experience of people who care about these topics. They’ve poured their heart and soul into their music and are ready to share it with the world.”

With Purpose artists release music that directly comments on cultural issues, including topics about life as a person of color in America, LGBTQAI+ rights, voting rights, female reproductive rights, and the environment. ThatTrack™ and With Purpose don’t limit artist perspectives, music can be shared representing any viewpoint, as long as it is respectful.

Music by With Purpose artists is available on ThatTrack, featuring artists Lone Wolfe, TINAMINA, and Noah Nevarez conveying their experience through music. Lone Wolfe tackles issues of artist exploitation and stereotypes, channeling real-life experiences and harsh realities in the music industry in “Fresh Lil Jays,” while TINAMINA has released two songs with the With Purpose campaign. She encourages society to come together and promote unity, inclusivity, and equality in “We Are One,” and wrote “Two Precious Lives” to highlight the importance of the freedom of choice regarding abortion, capturing emotions of fear and uncertainty in the song. Noah Nevarez’s song “Break The System” encourages listeners to be politically active and vote for change, while their song “Hell (We’re Already Here)” is about LGBTQAI+ rights and drag queens on TV. Each song has several versions available for use as part of a creator’s one-time fee. These include shortened mixes, instrumentals, or mixes designed to allow the voice to be the prominent element, while still using audio to produce the feeling intended by the creator.

“Fresh Lil Jays means a lot to me because of personal experiences as a member of a marginalized or minority (black) community. I’ve seen how tragedies cause a ripple effect throughout these communities, as I’ve lost friends to violence since I was a teenager. I can relate to mental strains that can be paralyzing and tiring, this is nothing to be exploited,” says artist Lone Wolfe. “I hope it influences people to wake up and realize how destructive it is to make a living out of mental trauma that leads to substance abuse, death and mental health. I want the music industry and its artists to be mindful of what they glorify.”

ThatTrack™ offers single use licenses in perpetuity, so creators can ensure music used is properly licensed. Their per-track Creator license is priced at $29.95, or creators can purchase a Creator Pro subscription, making tracks as low as $3.99 per track.

Artists taking part in the With Purpose collection will continue to release tracks via ThatTrack™ and DSPs. This music will also be available to be enjoyed by music fans on all major streaming platforms.
