Amazon Music Celebrates #IWD2020 with Dua Lipa Curated-Playlist, Exclusive Songs by Chika, AURORA & More

Amazon Music announced new Amazon Original songs dropping every week in March to kick off #IWD2020 and celebrate Women’s History Month. Only Amazon Music listeners will be able to stream new tracks by: rising hip-hop star, Chika; Norwegian pop songstress, AURORA; country music sensation, Carly Pearce; and more. Additionally, two-time GRAMMY Award winner, Dua Lipa curated an exclusive playlist for Amazon Music customers, featuring songs by her favourite female artists across genres, including Missy Elliott, Blondie, Lizzo, Doja Cat, Ariana Grande, Gwen Stefani and more. 

On her curated playlist, Dua Lipa stated, “The world is full of women making incredible music across so many genres, I could make a playlist one million songs long and wouldn’t be half way there to including all the female artists out there. Here are some of my absolute favourite women, who have inspired me and soundtracked my life across the years.” 

Amazon Music listeners will be able to find new, Amazon Original tracks every week for the month of March, beginning on March 6 with Carly Pearce’s cover of the Dixie Chicks’ hit, “Cowboy Take Me Away.” Next up, AURORA will release a reimagined version of her song, “Apple Tree” on March 13, followed by a new piano version of Chika’s “On My Way” on March 20. An additional track will be released the last week of the month.  

“To me, International Women’s Day means celebrating every woman that I know who has had an impact on me and taught me resilience, faith and perseverance,” stated Carly Pearce. “I chose to cover the Dixie Chicks because to me, they are one of the visionaries who made 90s country so huge and influential.”

Dua Lipa’s playlist is the latest in Amazon Music’s Handpicked series, in which artists curate playlists with personal significance to them.
