Location: Remote working within the UK will be considered but there will be a requirement to travel to our offices in Kennington (London) on an ad-hoc basis, subject to Covid Guidelines.

About the roles: 

Ninja Tune is currently recruiting for two roles sitting in the Copyright team and the Accounts and Royalties team.

These are fantastic roles for individuals who have great attention to detail, are data driven, and enjoy utilising all aspects of Excel. These roles are a perfect opportunity for those looking for an assistant level role which allows for their organisational skills to shine. Someone who is eager to learn and does not mind rolling up their sleeves to get things done in a team environment.

The roles will be focused on assisting with specific departmental focused tasks as well as day-to-day admin tasks which are critical to Ninja Tune. Although the responsibilities for each of the roles differ, they both require very similar skill sets. Therefore, we are open to receiving one application for both roles at the same time or if you prefer just one, we still want to hear from you.

Full training will be provided in each role, and the tasks will be introduced progressively until you have built confidence in the terminology / methods and software used in the role.

For both of the roles we are looking for the following key skills:

  • Highly numerate
  • Great attention to detail
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • Very confident with Excel, data manipulation and large volumes of data
  • Fast learner with new software and processes
  • Ability to focus on a set task and work fairly autonomously.
  • Ability to plan and organise your workload and convey progress at regular intervals.

Copyright Assistant

Sitting within the Copyright team at Ninja Tune, Just Isn’t Music and Ninja Tune Production Music, you will be responsible for recording and composition registrations at various domestic and international rights societies.

In addition, you will be responsible for researching copyright data for new music and updating / auditing our internal copyright systems including:

  • Music Maestro (publishing royalties software)
  • File Maker (database software)


  • Contacting managers and using online sources to compile copyright information
  • Using Excel and Filemaker to log this information
  • Importing copyright data into various societies via their online systems and Music Maestro software
  • Dealing with duplicate claims at various rights societies
  • Supplying our international 3rd party partners with copyright updates and maintaining relationships
  • Processing applications for mechanical licenses at the MCPS
  • Organising and auditing historic copyright data
  • Answering queries from the internal teams on copyright questions
  • Other ad hoc administrative tasks

Prior Experience (not necessary but please mention if you have any of the below)

  • Knowledge of basic copyright principles
  • Knowledge of the PRS, MCPS, PPL and other international collection societies
  • Prior experience of the systems mentioned
  • Prior experience within the music industry

Royalties Administrator

Sitting within the Accounts and Royalties team at Ninja Tune, Just Isn’t Music and Ninja Tune Production Music, you will hold responsibility for the tracking, ingestion and reconciliation of large sets of data (statements) into various systems including:

  • NetSuite (accounts software)
  • Korrect (master recording royalties software)
  • Music Maestro (publishing royalties software)
  • File Maker (database software)


  • Sourcing and tracking statements to ensure they are complete, accurate and arrive in a timely way so that they can be imported to deadline
  • Formatting these statements within Excel to ensure they are in the right format and contain all the information required to be imported into the relevant system
  • Importing data into the relevant system and reconciling/matching the data to payments received across different currencies
  • Developing and maintaining good relationships with statement providers and with your colleagues across the business
  • Being the main point of contact for queries related to the statements received
  • Generating and maintaining reports for further internal and external analysis (from NetSuite, Korrect, Music Maestro etc.)
  • Other ad hoc administrative tasks

Prior Experience (not necessary but please mention if you have any of the below)

  • Prior experience of the systems mentioned
  • Prior experience within the music industry
  • Prior experience of royalties
  • Knowledge of basic accounting concepts
