We say

From an album titled A History Of Now, set for release in April, here’s the debut UK single from Callaghan, a Lincolnshire lass who moved to Nashville in 2010 and wrote this confident song about her arrival there. Brimming with optimism, it’s a jaunty feel-good country track from an artist who’s sold more than 10,000 albums independently in the States. She did it by relentless touring and racked up more than 50,000 miles on the road every year. Bob Harris over at Radio 2 is already a big fan and she featured in his recent BBC4 TV documentary looking at the vibrant scene in the US, featuring many of the great new British acts managing to gain a foothold in this powerful and very lucrative music genre, some of whom we featured here in 2014. She’ll return home to the UK for a full tour this Spring. UK acts The Shires and Ward Thomas are already successfully carving out a niche in New Country and we confidently predict Callaghan is next.
